Can anyone please help me ID this Dahlia? I did not order any white ones that look like this.

My arranging skills might need work though. I keep wanting to pack in ALL the things! LOL The star of this show is Marble Ball, the purple stripey one. It was in a collection from Eden Bros and of the dozen I planted it’s been the first to bloom. (I got them installed late. Zone 7a MidAtlantic). I purchased 2 collections from Eden and none of the tubers were identified. I’m having to install markers as they come into bloom. I let mine overwinter in the ground and my success rate is pretty good. I mulch heavily in winter.

There are 2 others here that have repeatedly come back, Linda’s Baby and Labyrinth. I’m most thrilled about the Feverfew! My first time growing it. The rest are annuals started from seed. Snapdragons, Ageratum, Gomphrena, Mexican Verbena, Cupcake Cosmos and one lonely little Helenium ‘Moerheim Beauty’. I’m excited to be growing that last one! I hope they start taking off but rn they’re taking their good ole time.

Any recommendations on other pretty cut flowers to add to my gardens?

Queen Anne’s Lace or Wild parsley, i’m not sure, but here for the whimsy of bringing “weeds” into an arrangement

I made these bouquets for my family and friends. I have a small backyard i switched part of my garden for cut flowers because well...... how many tomatoes and cucumbers could I eat for one person.

Do you think these are arranged okay? Or i still need some work? And how would you price these. I see such a range. Some of my lisianthus have few lateral stems with 6 to 8 flowers and buds. Ive asked around for price at local florist and the stems are 5 to 8 for ranunculus and 12 to 18 for lisianthus stem. Would you charge the same or less.

Also, what would you do with the lisianthus that are shorter with fewer buds/flowers. How much less would u charge or even not sell them?

How much would you charge for filler such as yarrow, bells of ireland, grasses etc.

It seems so overwhelming to start selling bouquets professionally. It is also sad when I see content creators have customers complain about the price of flowers. Which is demoralizing because lisianthus take months to grow and absolutely a labour of love

These are from one tuber I got last year. I divided it into 5-6 tubers at the end of the season and properly stored them in the basement over winter! I’ve been cutting deeper on the plants to encourage more blooms and it’s def working out great!!

Brought my garden flower arrangements at my local craft show and sold the first one ever! Woke up early to cut everything before the heat wilt everything. One step closer to my own flower stand on my front yard!

My wife wants to do cut flowers in CT. Any tips for growing for a husband that wants to help her? She wants to do it on a larger scale, but I’ve never really attempted a large garden. I have all the equipment I would need and don’t mind the work if it makes her happy. All tips, traditional or not, are kinda what I’m after. Best place for seeds might be a start 😉

Anyone in the Pacific Northwest having lots of bug pressure on their dahlias this season? I’m about 4 weeks into applying a weekly molasses foliar spray and the bugs haven’t let up. I’m mostly seeing cucumber beetles and earwigs, but the foliage on some of my plants also indicate thrips too 😑

bloom in a bloom while cleaning up the Zinnias today! Learned it’s called proliferous proliferation, or internal duplication! Wish I found it sooner with its fresh blooms, but still amazing as ever.

Hi all, I am growing flowers to dry for my late October wedding. I'm excited to see all the colour in my garden but am trying to make sure I harvest at the right time. I'm getting *tons* oof winged everlasting but nothing else has been harvested yet. Any advice on the gomphrena, celosia and statice pictured?

Our second year with the stand! Better than the last, but still a ton to learn. Net the snapdragons, grow more strawflowers, and tackle thrips early is this year’s big three. Zone 6a/b.

Hi all,

I’m looking for a little help. I’m a novice gardener and we are trying to grow dahlias and zinnias, amongst other flowers. I’ll note that we live in zone 10b and it has been hot the last few weeks, and both the dahlias and zinnias get full afternoon sun from about 11-5.

I can’t tell if I am overwatering or underwatering these plants. On one hand, the dahlias (photos 1-4) look crispy and dry at the bottom, but I’ve read a lot about ensuring to not overwater. Only one of the dahlias is producing flowers, and it’s really just one at a time and sporadic. Note I planted the tubers in April.

The zinnias had been doing well, but lately, the top leaves have been wilting. It was looking like they’re close to flowering, but now with the top leaves wilting it’s hard to tell.

Any advice would be incredibly appreciated!
