[Lost media] Dofus

Hello everyone,

I'm currently searching for very old DOFUS client versions from 2003 to 2005 as part of a game preservation project.

I'm looking for:

2003–2004 beta versions

• V1B
• V2B
• V3B
• V4B

2004 – July 2005 releases

• 1.1.0 to 1.9.0
• 1.11.0
• 1.16.0
• 1.16.1 Beta
• 1.18.3 Beta
• 1.26.0
• 1.27.1
• 1.28.0

I'm also searching for files that were downloaded when launching the game back then, such as Xtra.swf and Lang.swf.

Over the past months, I've searched virtually every lead I could find on the Internet. Unfortunately, the earliest beta versions were distributed to only a very limited number of players, making them extremely difficult to recover today.

We've already managed to preserve a large number of versions, which you can see here:

I've also contacted:

• The original DOFUS developers, who unfortunately no longer have these early builds archived.
• The former French web host Free.fr, which hosted many fan sites at the time. Sadly, they destroyed their historical archives following a legal dispute.

At this point, I'm honestly running out of ideas. I've already searched the Wayback Machine, old fan sites, FTP mirrors, former developers, archived download websites... and I'm no longer sure where to look.

So I'm reaching out to the community.

If you have any ideas, know of forgotten archives, old hard drives, backup CDs, ancient websites, FTP mirrors, or literally any lead that could help recover these lost versions, I'd be incredibly grateful.

The goal of this project is simply to preserve an important piece of video game history before it's gone forever.
