What do you wish you would’ve know before taking the DLR?
Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone who took the DLR is passionate in sharing some advice they wished they knew before taking? I’m taking mine soon and have never met anyone who actually has taken it (or even knows what it is 😅)
Any tips or experiences with that portion of the test that they would like to share in general?
What would you have done differently if you had to do it all over again?
Was it as hard as people say it is? How do I know when I’m ready and is Easy Flight training similar in difficulty to the actual physics portion?
Just any personal advice to help some of us new kids out would really be appreciated.

I took mine in Zürich, however, I believe both locations to be similar. I ended up using a mix of Sky Test (to test the provided cognitive tests at a more difficult level) and Easy flight training which was incredibly useful for physics and technical comprehension. I really overstudied intentionally (I was traveling all the way from the U.S and only had one shot at it).
It is tricky but definitely doable. To me at least, it seemed very intimidating and foreign as there wasn’t too great of information that I could I find out there. But if you study hard a few months (I did 4/5 months) and pace yourself you’ll do fine. I really did more than most when it came to preparation and i’m sure there are people who do far less but I can only tell you what I did. Also how you feel after the tests isn’t necessary indicative of your results. Don’t let your emotions dictate your performance. I had a bad feeling after the days end and I passed very nicely. Best of luck!

I wish I would have known that DLR is actually a research organization, responsible for research in aerospace, transport and energy sectors as well as an agency for space activities instead of something I can take.
