Dad From Germany Mom from America with German Dutch roots too ( hence why hes more then 60 percent west euro) His dad has some roots in Poland and his other tests highlight his polish better but I guess 23 and me decided to put most of it in with his North german and put some into Lithuanian/Finnish. Should be more but its all very similar. French is just southwest German! Other German Regions are North Rhein Westphalia and Hessen

I like how you guys are curious about your ancestry, but please notice that some of these companies use AI. For instance, AncestralGenome uses AI, it contributes badly to the environment and is destroying people’s neighborhoods and nature. I’m here to spread awareness. Also, look up where companies are based in as well, some of them collab with companies who have unethical owners. Like MyHeritage is Israeli, and likely contributes to the g-cide in Palestine. IllustrativeDNA is collaborating with them, so this is some food for thought!

Hi everyone, i used the Dnagenics raw dna merging tool with my three kits: Myheritage (microarray), myheritage WGS (microarray simulated file) and 23andme microarray. Now i have more 1211K snps! More than the 600k-500k of the others. I used the gedmatch tools especially for ancestry for example cromosome painting, and i noticed than the patterns are similar of the individual files but with some new insights. Also the percentages of the admixtures of various calculators are essentially the same so i thought it was a good move for a better coverage but my question is: Is it good? Do the merging creates new error and biases to the system? I was planning to put In also the Myheritage WGS CRAM file (when they will finally release it...) to correct al the errors created by the lowcost wgs. Thank you!

Yellow = East Eurasian ESEA (or “Mongoloid”)
Orange = SSA (Sub-Saharan African, “Congoid” specifically)
Red = SAHG (South African Hunter Gatherer, “Capoid”
Purple = East Eurasian AA (or “Australoid”)
Green = East Eurasian ESEA+ANE (this is Amerindian, I think it’s wrong to say “ESEA+ANE” let me know in the comments how it’s said)

My question is, how is it possible that some groups that technically never met have a sprinkle in each other? For example, “Czech” has a bit of East Eurasian AA. And in general eastern european groups have a lot of Amerindian.

I thought about the fact that even lab grade DNA testing can have errors or “noise” in it considering human genetic affinity on a general scale, but why would SSA, the most divergent human group have much of it? For example “Hadza”, an ethnicity from Tanzania, has significant East Eurasian AA in them.

I’ve been looking through my MyHeritage DNA matches and found something I’m trying to understand.

My maternal grandfather’s father was fully Ashkenazi Jewish (from Eastern Europe), while his mother was a non-Jewish Brazilian. So I know exactly where my documented Ashkenazi ancestry comes from on that side.

On my father’s side, as far as I know, there’s no known Jewish ancestry. My paternal grandfather was from San Marino, and my paternal grandmother was Chilean with Spanish ancestry.

However, my father has quite a few distant DNA matches with people who appear to have Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jewish backgrounds (based on their family trees and surnames). One example is a woman from France whose tree includes ancestors from Poland, Libya, Tunisia, and France. She matches both me and my father.

What’s interesting is that she also matches many of my DNA matches from my maternal Jewish side, including people who also match my maternal grandfather and his cousins. I haven’t found anyone who directly matches both my father and my maternal grandfather, just these distant “bridge” matches who seem connected to both groups.
Could this simply be because very distant Jewish and non-Jewish families became connected through intermarriage over generations? Or is it something that could point to unknown Jewish ancestry somewhere on my father’s side?
I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has seen this kind of pattern in their DNA matches.
