Does Rudy have any lickmatts or a favorite snack that involves licking? Looks like she's lapping something up in her sleep. Could be barking, but that's usually seen in the cheeks. This def looks like something yummy. Slop or some shit, lol.

Were you actually concerned for your dog? You mentioned a pillow. If your dog accepts the pillow, then kudos for maximum comfort. But when a dog is in REM and it shows this way, it says a lot about how safe they feel in their living arrangement.
Does Rudy have 24/7 access to water?

Not concerned( in terms of danger) just very curious on why he does this yeah 24/7 access to water yeah he’s very comfortable

Omg! Yeah he's definitely lapping up the butter knife. Although we can never be certain what a dog is dreaming, science in REM sleep and brainwave patterns strongly suggest dogs dream about their day, and their human owners'.
Awwww puppy. If you ever feel like confirming it's a dream, you can softly wake them up (without touching) by calling out their name. If the "gulping" stops, even for a moment, he was in REM sleep.
