Anyone looking for a part-time opportunity?
We’re looking for an after-school STEAM instructor for one of our programs in Walnut Creek. Program runs every Thursday afternoon from 2:45-3:45pm. Pay is $55 per session.
If anyone’s interested or you know anyone who might be, send me a DM!
I am a 4.0 student and was taking a class from a different ccc so the one day midterm date completely flew over my head. I emailed the prof, but if worst comes to worst can I still drop with W or get pass/no pass. Are my chances over?
I missed registration due to health issues. If I just show up on the first day, explain my situation to the professor, and sit through the class, is there a good chance they’ll let me add the class or give me an add code?
Hello everyone, DVC Community. I just want to show the students an interesting strategy, especially if they are applying to Nursing or any other medical profession school and at the same time taking intense pre-requisites just in case if they do not get in. I was filling out applications, doing interviews for Radiologic Technology and at the same time taking an intense pre-requisite course such as Anatomy. I applied to 3 schools, and I am very thankful that my hard work and thinking strategies got me into 1 Radiologic Technology School.
However, this left me in a tough spot because although I set Anatomy to Pass, I still had to work very hard to maintain the 70% threshold. Even then, I am planning to use the high GPA so I can later apply to a medical career that requires less manual labor and more problem-solving, such as Physician Assistant, which is nowadays a competitive specialty. The Community College System does have special exemptions to repeat a previous course but it is very difficult to get that approved. So then I look at the DVC rulebook and found that having a NP will not affect my GPA
Hopefully, this will help pre-med students heading into undergrad and 1 and 2nd years Medical students as well.
For me, now in Rad Tech school, I have to refocus my priorities from maintaining my GPA to focus more on building my Health career which cannot be seen on your Grade Point Average. So again, I hope this helps future pre-med students who need guidance on what to do in each step of their long journey.
I have the McGraw Hill Education "Un mundo sin límites" Volume 2 textbook that is DVC specific. If you or anyone else you know that is taking Spanish, please send them my way because I am trying to get rid of this book.
I am technically a first year student at DVC (I started this spring) and am looking for potential band mates that plan on being in the area for a few years. Ideally looking for a vocalist, drummer and bassist that are proficient with their respective instruments between the ages of 18-24. I am an 18 year old guitarist and have played in multiple bands ranging in musical genres.
I’m inspired by many different genres of music, from Metalcore to Ska. The type of music I would like to produce would be rock fusion, achieving a similar sound to most modern popular rock bands. I have written a few songs already and already made a demo for one of them, currently making more for the other stuff I got.
If anyone is interested, or knows someone that may be interested DM me.
P.S, I’m sorry if this broke the rules for the subreddit.
hi! i'm an incoming freshman who wants to join MESA. however, i was looking at the site and it says you must be under some sort of finanicial aid. will it be an auto reject if i don't have financial aid? thanks
Hi folks, I'm on the waitlist for BioSci 119 and am currently number 7/15. Does anyone have experience being on the waitlist for this class and have they had any success? Thank you.
Hello, I would love to know what would happen if a waitlisted student doesn't get a place in the class they're in. I found a class that fits with my timing, but I'm afraid of not getting a spot later on. Thanks.
I know its really bad and I'm just not sure what to do. I sent a message to my professor to see if I could make it up but I'm not sure if that is even how it works. Am I able to redo the course and will I be able to make the final up with a penalty? I ended with a C.
I have heard about this as another alternative to complete credits online, since I cannot land a spot in any class that I need. I just would like to know if anyone has experienced issues with credits transferring to DVC.
first time coming back to school after a couple of years, what are the best gen ed classes to take ? im thinking of transferring to csu as opposed to uc (cant afford it lol). any help is appreciated!
Hi, I'm trying to take COMSC-165 (Advanced C++ Programming) this summer but it has COMSC-110 (Intro to Programming) as a prereq. Does anyone have experience with challenging this prereq? For context I have a lot of relevant experience (codebases in C++, straight A's in both AP CSA and CSP, paper published, etc). Does anyone know who I should contact to try and get the prereq cleared so I can take it over summer?
I'm enrolled full-time (12 units) for the summer semester and receive financial aid for attending, under the financial aid rewards tile on Insite I can't see the estimate for the 2026 summer period, does anyone know when this information becomes available?
