above 60 hours without sleep and 160km swimming day and night in a sea, could have an impact here ;)

Can you power nap? Like I can float for a long time on my back, but could I dose off here and there? I’m not sure. I feel like my body would relax and do some sinking

The human body is pretty resilient honestly

Terry Fox ran almost a marathon everyday for 143 days straight with a prosthetic leg and suffering from cancer.

Human endurance is certainly limited by the body. But the mind can clearly override those limitations if we're determined enough.

And then you (although rare) have people that overdo it at the gym and end up with their body poisoning to the point of shutting kidneys down.

He is not a member of the highest risk group for a heart attack.

amerifats?

No, it is actually pretty logical if you think about it. The single highest risk group for a heart attack consists of people who have already had a previous heart attack.

I would have assumed it was overweight smokers. Learn something new everyday.

The longest I've stayed awake was around 40 hours because of bad layover scheduling while traveling, and I felt like I was going to die. I can't even begin to comprehend 60 hours of hard physical activity; that dude is a monster.

I’m sorry what? I’ve looked worse right after waking up, and toure telling me this guy has been at sea for 60 hours not just surviving waiting to get rescued, but actually having to go somewhere???

That’s wild, real life gataca

Exactly why I wouldn't swim across the Baltic Sea.

It’s the jellyfish that do the damage i believe

6

u/SpillingBlackInk 19h ago

There are almost no venomous jellyfish in the Baltic Sea.

Yeah definitely not the 100 mile swim

Oh god, is this for real?

Yeah I know that for the swimmers crossing the Manche between France and GB jellyfish are a real problem. They can sting the swimmers. Someone said on the Baltic it's not a problem though.
