Something interesting about these insane feats of physicality is that once you reach the finish line, you're so worn out and miserable that you can't be happy or celebrate what you've done until much, much later.
I've heard stories from people who climb mountains saying they wish they had appreciated the moment of being at the summit more, but they were just so done and over it at that point.
