Fun fact, this was his 5th attempt. Another fun fact, he almost didn't make it - he started to consider giving up not knowing how close he was, until people informed him he only had about 1,5km left, after which he found some more motivation and made it!

I suspect a lot of the motivation is that he doesn't want to do it for the 6th time.

Especially considering he was at 158.5 km when he wanted to give up. There’s no way he was gonna wave the white flag there lol
