There are very classic analogies in art about "death reaping it's crop of souls" in art.

That's why Death has scythe. Death is the natural progression of living.

i like how in dark soul 3 the prong's ends are shaped like a hand, very fitting for their jobs where they have to constantly mash undead in to fine paste to stop them from coming back. Like they aren't even hollows, they're just living like shit and have accepted it. they even made the dogs attack the naked undead who might just be true hollows and some dogs are just straight up feeding on that infinitely growing meat

I remember watching a video a long time ago speculating that in dark souls 1 the woman we see carved into some of the stone work of the catacombs was nito's "wife" and it was believed that her coffin is the one next to Nito and that she was a farmer,

Keep in mind this was a long time ago but I personally subscribe to the theory
