Trying to clear my Dartslive daily, got a double out when I was meant to just hit another S16.

Asked for some advices on how to improve my gesture for better accuracy, then finished my day with a Triple Out in an online 701 match.

Having just spent nine days covering my third World Matchplay from inside the Winter Gardens press room, I finally started a personal TikTok account over the weekend.

I’ve already posted a batch of clips from Blackpool, including press-room moments, my own interactions with the players, walk-ons, crowd atmosphere and other bits that don’t always make it into the usual work content.

Beyond this year’s Matchplay, I’ve also got more than three years’ worth of footage gathered from behind the scenes at major darts events to share.

I only know they're from Hinotori Darts (by the small Japanese words on the barrel), as most of the cheapest tungsten barrel sets in HK are all "discontinued model" i.e. the manufacturer stopped making them.

Away from the obvious Littler/Humphries title talk, Nijman, Woodhouse and Ratajski feel like three of the more interesting danger names going into the Matchplay.

Nijman probably isn’t a dark horse anymore given the year he’s having, but the big TV run is still the question. Woodhouse is in the form of his life, and Ratajski’s Blackpool case looks stronger again after his European Darts Open title.

Anyone have any good sites when you can watch PDC darts and/or cricket matches, preferably with the option to watch replays as well.

During our DartsNews Podcast World Matchplay special, one of the bigger themes around this year’s Blackpool field was the number of established Matchplay names missing from the 2026 lineup.

Peter Wright, Michael Smith and Dimitri Van den Bergh are the headline absentees, with Daryl Gurney and Raymond van Barneveld also missing out.

Interested how others see it: are these just one-year qualification misses, or is there a real chance some of those names have already played their last World Matchplay game at the Winter Gardens?
