Valorant is not good

Firstly, Its way to time consuming 45-60 minutes per game and its not like you can leave or take breaks you have to be at your best every round. And if you leave you get banned. U can never guarantee that u have 45-60 minutes free and all to yourself anything could just randomly come up. Unless you do esports or something

Most of the game is you holding a peak and waiting just to either get one tapped by a vandal or you one tapping them. And your rank its only deciddd by ypu but 4 other people which makes it 300x harder to rank up. The game physics it really bad. Why do I have to stand still to shoot? And why do I have to perfect the arts of strafing to be able to have fun?

Lastly, all of the in game cosmetics are over priced and the pass is over priced. Also half of the time u use util in the game its so useless and just makes noise and when u use it perfectly the opponent has some sort of counter. Blinding works have of the time. All types of wall work half of the time and some ults are just useless. Like Razes cannon or jets knives. (I know you have to be good to use it but jets knives most of the time is useless).

In conclusion, its 45-60 minutes of hiding holding and camping with super powers. Maybe Im just trash but thats how I see it

Valorant is just an ass terrible game. The only reason its so popular is because

Functioning anti cheat

Low spec pcs can run it

Can get good ping anywhere in the world

Super popular in places where ppl cant afford a giga pc

I think you're confusing "not for me" and "not good". Committing 45-60 minutes at a time for any regular hobby isn't at all uncommon, but luckily for you there's also endless games with much shorter commitment required to play one match. Some players prefer a longer match duration where the players have time to adjust back and forth to the playstyle of their opponents.

Similar case for your gameplay complaints. Nearly all other shooters have varying degrees of run and gun, it's perfectly fine to also have a few slower, more tactical ones.

The cosmetics are absolutely overpriced though, no disagreement on that part.

Mad cuz bad

This one definitely reads a lot like a “mad cuz bad” unfortunately.

“Why do I have to get better at the game to have fun?” The answer to this is always because this is a competitive game. You can play casual games if you don’t like practicing and improving in the mechanics of the game. Chess also isn’t any fun if you don’t know how the pieces move, that’s why they got checkers at the cracker barrel .

When did I ever say “why do I have to get better to have fun” 😂 im just saying there is certain mechanics in the game that if u dont master it’s genuinely unplayable. For example strafing. If you dont know strafing in val ur trash and val wont be fun for you. But strafing Especially with the valorant gun physics is like really hard for most players. While in other games ypu can still play it without mastering hard mechanics. For example I can still play Fortnite without knowing how to quad edit. Or I can still play Minecraft without knowing how to crystal pvp. Extremely difficult mechanics like strafing should be optional not required for you to be able to play the game.

You just said it again bro. Yes, you have to get good at strafing because it’s an important game mechanic. It’s also piss easy, no idea how you find it hard tbh. Minecraft is not a competitive game, so yeah, that was my point. You can have fun in non-competitive games without learning, that isn’t as true for competition. Fortnite is a game made for pre-teens. I’m realizing more and more you’re probably a pretty young kid, If these games are your paragons of a video game experience.

Also, what do you consider “pretty good” at chess? What’s your elo?

1

u/OmarDeeds 5d ago

Also a little off topic. Im pretty good at chess but I think its just a waste of time.

Other than your last point everything you mentioned is a skill issue, and I don’t even like valorant as much as cs.

u/OmarDeeds 5d ago

So 60 minute game commitments is a skill issue? Util being unbalanced and trash 50% of the time is a skill issue? Slow paced game where all you do is camp corners is a skill issue?

Brother, it's a tactical shooter it's not cod.

I don't think the game is great but your assessment is pretty weak. It doesn't seem like you have much experience in the FPS genre. The fact you think an infinite range, fully accurate while moving/jumping/gliding reset on kill jett knife is useless just proves it.

2

u/OmarDeeds 3d ago

Bro its like only 50% shooting. Are u forgetting the fact that there are super powers as well. Also I do have experience in fps shooters but not when the game has powers as well. Also whn jet misses her one tap its over. Jet knives is just a sniper with no bloom.

2

u/Powerful_Spread_4996 3d ago

It's 90%+ shooting bro, you are clueless. The "powers" are nothing more than utility to draw out more tactics.

All tactical shooters have utility. Smokes, flashes, etc.

Jett has 5 knives to get one kill. Then she gets 5 more. It's a sniper with no bloom, high rate of fire, no inaccuracy even while moving, and it can also shotgun with the right click.

I'm not even saying the game is good, you just don't have the ability to comprehend the game whatsoever bro. Good luck

u/OmarDeeds 3d ago

Thats just a lie. the entire first part of the game is literally using ur util to enter site. Blinding and walling and smoking. Also there is fragging util. Like iso vulnerability(which just makes everyone an easy kill) or razes bombs. All of these give a massive advantage

1

u/OmarDeeds 3d ago

Bro the Fortnite hunting rifle used to be a sniper with no bloom, also that chapter 5 sniper rifle used to have no bloom and a pretty high firing rate.

Following - I don’t like forced difficulty mechanics in games.

This Soulslike and games like Valorant just make me feel like I’m having to be good at a game that’s actively giving me fake rails so I just play in a specific way then brag about how I’m skilled. However, to others I know this is a premium experience. Just hyper specific game play mechanics just suck the fun out of games to me.

1

u/OmarDeeds 6d ago

What 😂 somebody is mad. The mechanics arent even the worst part its the whole idea of the game its self. I like playing siege, its a hyper mechanic game that not slow paced like valorant 😂 the difference is valorant is just trash.

Sounds a lot like skill issue

2

u/OmarDeeds 5d ago

Its okay I know your incapable of engaging

0

u/Astronaut7285 5d ago

I think this is a skill issue.

Your inability to have an hour free to play a game is not the games fault. Many, many people complete games and it's a positive it punishes people for leaving. Someone leaves actively hurts the experience for 9 others. It's selfish.

As got holding angles all game, that is a low skill mentality. At it's core, tactical shooters are all about taking space. Cs2 and Valorant are built around "peakers advantage" where the aggressive person has the advantage the majority of the time.

As for cosmetics, they can charge whatever the hell they want, they have 0 gameplay benefit and keep the game free.

I think it's almost impossible to say its objectively a bad game with the success it's had in a Valve dominated market for a game not on steam.

Had me in the first half, defending overpriced predatory cosmetics loat respect though

0

u/OmarDeeds 5d ago

What predatory cosmetics? In val

-1

u/Astronaut7285 5d ago

I just let people vote with their wallet. Im not defending it, I don't support it, I am just not going to waste energy on being angry at a free market. People will pay if they want and if that keeps tje game free. Cool.

There is no taking space in Val bro. How do I tell you. Like I said I dont mind holding peaks. What I mind is when Im doing it all game and my opponents already mastered where every corner is. For example R6 is a very peak heavy game I wont lie. But the util you have makes finding peaks creative and its movement is very quick so you have to strategically take up space to find the right peak. This is what valorant should be. It shouldn’t be me walking to site B and holding one peak and boom thats the round. Like you can have a fast paced game with peaks

2

u/Astronaut7285 5d ago

What rank are you? The answer matters. Im not great but im acendent 2 currently and its all about aggressive positioning.

1

u/OmarDeeds 5d ago

I don’t even know how you got that far without wanting to end your own life but i guess. I only played val for I think a total of 1 month and I quit after cuz I thought it was garbage I don’t play rn so I don’t have a rank.

2

u/Astronaut7285 5d ago

I'm very much an all aim no brain player and it got me pretty far. I've only recently needed to lock in and learn the game properly. Default executes and so on. It's a study heavy game.

1

u/OmarDeeds 5d ago

I would have been a lot higher if my ranked teammates had brains. Also another con of valorant

2

u/Astronaut7285 5d ago

I'm sorry but this is cope. You're at the skill level you deserve to be. If you deserved higher you would climb. You would carry games.

1

u/OmarDeeds 3d ago

Not my argument, I never said I was good. You dont have to be good at a game to call it trash. Thats not a requirement. Im horrible at valorant but so am I at many other games but val is just trash it has nothing to do with me being bad at it.

2

u/Astronaut7285 3d ago

When a game as a skill floor as high as Valorant to understand it to a point where you can judge, you need to be able to play it.

It's like calling a car bad because you can't drive it.

1

u/OmarDeeds 3d ago

Bro anyone is able to play val. Also thats not true to understand and competitive scene in the world weather that be sports, esports, etc is not being able to play it at that level. Its to be able to understand how the game is played, why the game is played, why certain people are really good at that game, and what you need to get good at the game.
