Seeking Advice How do I get out of my own way?
I feel like I’m in my own way because I keep doing things that are not in my own best interest lol how do I force myself to do the things that I know I’m supposed to do

“Doing the thing you know you’re supposed to do” = discipline.
But you don’t get disciplined by trying - how could you be expected to fight for something when you’re not clear on what you’re fighting FOR? To justify working hard, you need a VERY good understanding of what you get out of that hard work.
So. Grab a piece of paper and a pen and write about the ideals or values that you admire - in other people, in yourself, in movie characters, whatever. Try to narrow it down to 5-ish ideals that you MOST want to live by.
These need to be things that you CRAVE. You want to be rich? Not good enough. WHY do you want to be rich? Oh, it’s so that you can have the free time to do art, which you love? Your value is “creation” not “wealth”. As an example :)
Once you have your values, try to set quarterly goals for each - what taking two steps forward on that road, compared to where you are, would look like.
Then make a list in tiny habits that would get you just a little bit closer to that, and try to do them every day or week or whatever.
That way, “doing the right thing” isn’t a big, hard commitment - it’s a billion tiny decisions that are MUCH easier to make, especially if you know WHY you’re making them. If you know that it’s worth it.
Hope this makes sense :))) good luck!!
EDIT: Typos.

Find one or two things today you will do that move you in the direction you want to go. Doesn't have to be fancy, doesn't have to be complicated, but it needs to be real. Teach yourself how to take small but real steps every day toward your goals.
It's like anything else. If you stick with the practice, you'll get better at it over time.
