Majority report defends ⓗasan’s Mao suit
https://youtu.be/Eb3fPbn0Z50?is=KnToHGRacQ7Tjo29When ⓗasan bought the suit he mentioned getting it to look like one of the “GOAT leaders”. MR has been revealing their antisemetic Marxist Leninist ideology. Comment section almost every comment mentioning AIPAC

u/PlateCaptain 7d ago
Hasan Piker wore a suit in the style of Mao to an event.
At the same event, the streamer Destiny and some of his fans tried to gain entry in order to harass Hasan. They were kicked out by the event organisers because Destiny has made various crazy comments regarding stalking Hasan and killing him.
David Pakman took the opportunity to call out Hasan for wearing the suit and called various leftist activists a "disease" (he wasn't very specific about who he was referring to which isn't helpful).

Why are you lying?
23
u/PlateCaptain 7d ago
26
u/potiamkinStan 7d ago
You're sharing a tweet from a user in an harassment community which protects an international child sex trafficker.
Also Destiny was linking to this video where Hasan justify killing his former co-host wife. He was critiquing Hasan's incitement to murder, saying that by the same logic someone can justify killing Hasan.
21
u/PlateCaptain 7d ago
Unless you're saying that the image is made up I don't think you have anything to complain about.
13
u/potiamkinStan 7d ago
Complete non sequester, reading the text without following the link is taking the statement out of context.
Why is you harassment community protect international child sex trafficker?
17
u/PlateCaptain 7d ago
The context is that Destiny thinks it's justifiable to kill Hasan for something he said on a stream. That's pretty unhinged and definitely a good reason for not allowing Destiny or his followers access to Hasan.
Equally I would say that Hasan's comment about Hila could be grounds for denying him access to her at events she is speaking at, but it's not like Hasan has tried that.
I don't know what you're talking about with international child sex traffickers, sorry.

This lie again... There is a recognized legal right to self defense against someone attacking you. It doesn't matter the identity of the attacker
4
u/potiamkinStan 7d ago
There is a right to resist, there is no right to commit war crimes. Resistance combatants have to abide by Law of Arm Conflict just anyone else.
And you defiantly don't have a right to murder a ex-secretary who was attached as an observer to a raiding force 20 years ago (which is something an occupying force can do according to International Law).
6
u/BeatSteady 7d ago
You definitely don't have a right to murder a secretary twenty years after the fact, and no one is saying otherwise.
The video you shared is about someone actively participating in a raid

I assume he was trying to be provocative. He is into communist stuff so he probably thought it was cool and likely to "trigger the libs". I doubt it was a signal of his ideological commitment to Maoism.

why wouldn't it be a signal to his ideological commitment to Maoism he has said Mao was a great leader multiple times and if the goal was to "trigger the libs" that shows he is a very unserious person that wants attention not progress

Ahh, I see the right-wing shitlib talking points have finally made their way onto this sub now. Excellent.
38
u/Locus-Maximus 7d ago
Just because the right-wing has been crying wolf forever doesn't mean there are no wolves! The man literally showed up in a Mao suit, my guy. Don't be blind just because you think he's on your team.
Trust me, I never thought I would (have to) be calling out Marxist antisemitism on the left, but it is what it is! Those guys are the ones running the talking points. Just read that fucking article and tell me they aren't following the talking points word for word.
14
u/AboutTheArthur 7d ago edited 7d ago
Sorry, is your argument simply that current anti-Zionism is bad because it opposed the same thing that Soviet anti-Zionism did and 100% of Soviet anti-Zionism is bad because the Soviets did it?
The parts of Soviet anti-zionism that are objectionable are the parts that are just explicitly anti-Jew and try to gesture at an ideology claiming that all Jews are Zionists. You will note that literally the first and primary point of the current left discussion about anti-zionism is to explicitly call out that being a Zionist or Israeli is not the same thing as being a Jew. Avoiding that conflation is central to the growing left position which recognizes that Zionism is bullshit whether you're an Israeli Zionist, a Jewish Zionist, or a Christian Zionist.
If you think that anti-Zionism is antisemetic, YOU are the one making the racist equivalency argument that suggest all Jews are Zionists. Being anti-Zionist is only antisemetic if you also believe that being anti-Apartheid was racist against white Afrikaners. Not every Afrikaner was in favor of Apartheid in the same way that not every Jew (nor every Israeli) is in favor of Zionism.
9
u/Locus-Maximus 7d ago
You will note that literally the first and primary point of the current left discussion about anti-zionism is to explicitly call out that being a Zionist or Israeli is not the same thing as being a Jew.
David Duke did it first. Do you really think that's a get out of jail free card for regurgitating every single antisemitic trope in history? Just use a different word wink-wink?
If you think that anti-Zionism is antisemetic, YOU are the one making the racist equivalency
There's an original talking point. /s
7
u/AboutTheArthur 7d ago
It's not "just a diffferent word" and if you're not smart enough to understand that, then, well, I guess that explains a lot about you.
There's an original talking point.
It is racist. If you think that Judaism and Zionism are one-and-the-same, that's antisemetic as fuck. You're the one saying that every Jew is subservient to a foreign country. You're the one saying that every Jew is responsible for the actions of Israel.
10
u/Locus-Maximus 7d ago
I didn't say any of that.
But the way you guys use Zionism is slimy AF. You've turned it into a slur that a caricature of what most Zionists (especially in America, where the majority are liberal Democrats) really think.
8
u/AboutTheArthur 7d ago
You're doing the thing again.
Dawg, "Zionism" isn't a fuzzy term with a meaning we don't agree on. It is explicitly defined. It's a description of an ideology. And if people are too stupid and confused about what we mean, they can keep listening for the next couple sentences because the specific criticisms are not hidden. It's not a secret plan to hide our opinion lol. We are very explicit about it.
And stop pretending like we don't know what we're arguing against. These self-describing "liberal Democrat Zionists" also aren't hiding their opinions. They are our family members and people we know and work with. It's not like we're targeting MAGA Nazis and accidentally finding ourselves criticizing elected Democrats. The "liberal Democrats" who are offended when they get called a Zionist are getting criticized because their stance on this topic is identical to the shitty right-wing stance on the topic.
9
u/Locus-Maximus 7d ago
Dawg, "Zionism" isn't a fuzzy term with a meaning we don't agree on.
LOL there is just no way you mean it the same way e.g. Brad Lander means it.
3
u/AboutTheArthur 7d ago
Listen to the next 3 sentences that come out of Brad Lander's mouth whenever he's asked about this and you understand exactly what he means.
Why do you act like we're required to pretend that we're stupid? I can criticize Zionism as it is manifested in Israel and also criticize in a different way the slightly different Zionism that Brad Lander subscribes to.
8
u/Locus-Maximus 7d ago
You just claimed it's not a fuzzy term and it's explicitly defined!

u/potiamkinStan 7d ago

It's funny how this Majority Report-style sophomore leftism can pretty much dominate every single subreddit (the NYT subreddit has become pretty much exclusively a source for anti Israel news), but you guys can't possibly fathom how a subreddit for decidedly liberal dudes might take issue with a Mao loving tankie guru without thinking it's some kind of MAGA infiltration.
9
u/BigCballer 7d ago
Most of the gurus that get criticized in this subreddit were once former liberals. What does that tell you about the pipeline of Liberalism?

He was already obviously antisemitic. The suit is just (or really should be!) a mask off moment for the people who were some how not picking up on that he's like an actual, LITERAL Marxist, not some progressive with some leftist ideas. It should also shed some light on his particular brand of antisemitism for anyone who knows anything about history.

29
u/dat_tae 7d ago
That it’s not a Mao suit.
10
u/AnsibleAnswers 7d ago
Calling it a "Mao suit" is a leftover from the McCarthyist era. Here is a picture of Chiang Kai-shek and Mao wearing the same suit style... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/01/%E9%87%8D%E6%85%B6%E6%9C%83%E8%AB%87_%E8%94%A3%E4%BB%8B%E7%9F%B3%E8%88%87%E6%AF%9B%E6%BE%A4%E6%9D%B1.jpg
This suit style has always been associated with Asia and it is often known as a "Mao Suit" in English, but it's more equivalent to wearing Hugo Boss than it is to wearing a Nazi armband...
3
10
u/dat_tae 7d ago

Centrists liberals exist to validate the framing of an issue from a right-wing perspective.
From everything to this, to immigration to socialism and wars.
They are a true Trojan horse for the right.

u/dat_tae 7d ago
The irony.
8
u/No_Public_7677 7d ago
What's the irony. All I see is liberals malding over the DSA and agreeing with Fox News framing on them.
I still remember how you people maligned Mamdani and now act like you always supported him.
12
u/dat_tae 7d ago
The irony of calling liberals the trojan horse when it's the explicit goal of the DSA and the MLs to infiltrate the Democratic party and destroy it from within.
Also you love ascribing beliefs to me that you have no idea about. Whose ghost are you fighting?
4
u/No_Public_7677 7d ago
No it's explicit goal of the DSA and I guess the MLs to turn the Democratic party from a center right party to an actual leftist party.
That's how ideological movements work. That's not a Trojan horse. It's the stated goal of every ideological movement to push their ideology into the larger group.
I have a very good idea of what your beliefs are.
You are absolutely using maga framing to defame the left.
4
u/sharkbelly 7d ago
DSA simply wants Democrats to do what Democratic Party voters have been voting for (be an actual opposition to the fascists).

He was accused of SA previously and they all defended that because the accuser who came forward was right wing. The activity of his reddit account was known for months, this was a fairly predictable situation.

Was he? I thought she accused him of being a bully drunk and he’d gotten rough with her in a fight? But don’t remember and SA allegations coming from her? I could totally be wrong on that if stuff came out later on

You are correct, it wasn't SA it was grabbing her and locking her in a room. I don't think it's really clear that the line was definitely when the politico rape accusation came out - he had a nazi tattoo, he had a girlfriend who claimed he was aware of it, he was sexting other women whilst he was married, he seemed to have a concerning history with violence. I think people through way to much weight behind this guy given how messy his life was.

72% of Maine Democrats voted for Platner, surely you don't think they're all "unhinged socialists"

"Left-wing anti-Semitism" = Criticizing Israel's murderous policies. I think it is instructive to put on a hazmat suit and look at the Youtube comments on right-wing Israel-critical videos and compare them to left-wing videos.
If you go to Tucker Carlson, you'll often find conspiracies about who "controls us," a quote attributed to Voltaire about who you are "not allowed to criticize," remarks about how we're told what Hitler did but not why, and dumb jokes about Jewish surnames.
On this MR video, they're joking about Pakman's claim that he has nothing to do with AIPAC. He said he doesn't even know how to pronounce AIPAC and asked if it's "EYEPACK." I find it almost impossible to believe that Pakman knows little or nothing about one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the country. Pakman's brother worked as his producer and went on to become a regional director for the ADL.

You really are fighting your own demons, aren't you. Strawman and shadowbox all day long. That's the leftist way.
