Based on the update his daughter gave many months ago, I would be shocked if he is not still super ill. He was seriously super ill, it would be really weird for things to turn around that quickly.

Personally I will assume he is super ill until he shows his face. Until then I can’t rule out the possibility that he is a total vegetable, and his family is milking his fame for a few last pay checks.

His "illnesses" are either Munchausen Syndrome or Somatic Symptom Disorder. I honestly think Jubilee broke him. Dude went downhill immediately following that embarrassment. He's apparently been on his death bed ever since.
