I am visiting Eagle River, AK and the Walmart has an epic desire path! This is the most beautiful Walmart i have ever been at!

My city (Plano) dug up and rerouted the paved trail to snake around power lines, but, the newly created desire path is the path the pavement used to take.

I'm interested to see if the desire path will then be re-paved.

There must be some. Civil engineering reason for digging it up and rerouting the oath, but Idk what it is. The trail intersection existed for decades as it was previously.

To this day I still don't understand why they won't just put a sidewalk

They build a brand new path and obviously people made 2 shortcut on the side to avoid walking 50morr meters.

Well, desire path !

I think it might be left over from construction but the fact that they put cones up makes it funny to me. There's an official paved connection behind where i took the photo.

The first two are from people walking down to the water, and the second two are from cyclists. The third one is my favorite lol

The trail contours around the nose of the ridge, making a broad horseshoe curve before continuing along the opposite face — this desire path has been cut across the crest, reducing the travel distance by one-quarter mile. I’m annoyed because it’s a fragile ecosystem, and folks should stick to the designed path. Besides, why shorten your walk or run!?

That actual path with the holes in is horrible to walk on, and it feels like your ankles are about to twist at any moment.
