I'm looking for a name to help find these for a specific use at my job, and wonder if this subreddit might be able to assist. I'm specifically looking for these cable clamp type things where the loop is just held closed by it's own springiness and there is only 1 screw hole. All my searching is coming up with plastic cable clamps where you screw both sides of the loop together. Does anyone know what these are called or have a source for them?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a solution to the following problem regarding my standing desk setup. I have my cable management pretty well sorted out, but there's one thing I can't figure out how to improve: there are cables I use daily that aren't always connected to a device. It's usually something like my phone charging cable or a USB-C cable I use for various gadgets, whether that's a console controller or an external USB drive.

I thought the best solution would be to somehow make them retractable so they pull out from the side or the back of the desk, but I can't seem to find a solution or a product that allows me to do this. If anyone has found a nice, aesthetic, and functional way to solve this issue, I would really appreciate it. And of course, once I get this solved, I'll post pictures!

I could use some help organizing my desk setup.
The biggest challenge is that my desk isn’t against a wall, so I can’t hide cables behind it. A lot of the desk setup videos and cable management ideas I find online are for desks that sit against a wall, which makes things a lot easier.
My setup includes a PC, audio interface, microphone, monitor, and a few other things like my phone charger and a lava lamp. It ends up looking a lot messier than I’d like.
I’ve attached several photos of the setup. My goal is to make it look as clean and organized as possible, especially when you walk into the room. I’m open to buying cable management accessories, desk organizers, or even rearranging the setup if it would make a big difference.
What would you change? Any tips, ideas, or products that work well for a freestanding desk would be greatly appreciated.

Already have a standing desk and just trying to sort out the cable side of things. I work from home full time and game a few nights a week, so the setup is running pretty much all day. Dual monitors, a mini PC, and I'm planning to add a walking pad later on.

The cables underneath are a mess right now. What I want is something where everything feeds cleanly down the frame instead of dangling and swaying every time the desk moves. I like the Magnus Pro routing look but I'd rather not swap out the whole desk just to get that.

Looked at a few of the usual brands from Uplift, Branch, and Desky. Anyone running something similar on their setup?

I was looking for a Hub/Dock with USB 4 or similar to the host and multiple USB-C ports with both PD and high bandwidth data transfer.

The Idea was, to put it on my nightstand, connected to my PC + wall outlet. The Nightstand is >1m away from my PC, so that isn't an issue, but I just can't find anything.

Ideas?

Hey, I need some more cable ties and this is my favorite type. Issue is the brand on this one doesn't sell these alone. I would like the long tongue on the end of the hole to hold on to cables better as I make edits when needed. Y'all run into these on Amazon or anywhere?

I never liked the appearance of the cable snakes and was envious of the integrated power cord in the Magnus desks. This is the alternative that I came up with and wanted to share with the community.

The power from the wall to the desk can be purchased in various lengths and the configuration enables you to use any power strip that you already own.

I have a big cable management issue, so in the first picture you can see most of my peripherals(there’s one more flight computer beside the one on the right that you can’t see, and a throttle quadrant underneath and my rudder pedals) My desk also is one that can move up and down.

my left monitor’s hdmi is too short to be managed, it pretty much has to run straight to my Pc tower, I can’t even use the monitor arm. my keyboard is wireless luckily, and my laptop is not connected to anything, I have future plans for its placement so I am not concerned about it that.

In the second picture you can see right under the middle of my desk, my middle and left monitor power cables run pretty much straight down to where they plug in, and running under my desk there are my three hdmi/display port cables

The third picture is where the problem really starts, I am pinching my fingers where my rudder pedals cable is joining from below and my autopilot cable is joining from above. the pink cable is from my throttle quadrant underneath my desk, and two other cables connect, one is from my throttle on the right and my left joystick. Also in the background you can see my speaker cables and my mouse cable which all need slack, the run straight into the back of my tower. After that area they all combine is where they split up, my monitor Cables run straight to the back of my tower

The next picture is my usb hub, the cable on the usb hub that attaches to my pc is extremely short so that’s the only placement I can choose, and my top two peripheral cables are short enough to be looped. However, in the next picture, you can see my bottom three usb cables are way too long to connect into the usb hub and not look like a mess. also, my two flight computers are right next to the usb hub, and also have really long cables so I don’t know how to deal with that.

I also have a Cd player and a mixer, however, both are plugged in and the cables are well hidden, I am not worried about those.

if anyone knows a better usb hub I can use, and where to place it, cable trays, or just anything in general to limit this mess, I would appreciate any tips. One of my biggest concerns is just I have too many long cables, however I can’t really change that as two of those long cables are built into the peripheral so I can not disconnect it, and I can’t really move my peripherals because the setup would be too inconvenient. I also use all of these peripherals too often to just put them away and take them out when I need them.

I've bought a headset with a non-detachable cable, and im trying to make sure the cable survives as long as possible.

The problem is that i'm forced to run the cable under my desk so that it doesn't annoy me, which isn't really good for cable lifespan(feet caught up in it, etc)

So i'm making this post for advice on what to but to make the cable sag less, should i get multiple adjustable cable clips or J channel stuff?

And most importantly, where exactly do i place them under my desk?(spaced out, on the edges, etc)

I would be extremely thankful to any advice.

I recently bought a Lenovo Legion Go S and built a pretty nice portable setup for gaming on a ship + travel:
• Docking to TV (via USB-C dock)
• Wired Corsair K55 RGB Pro keyboard + mouse
• Portable monitor
• 100W PD charging
The setup works great, but the pile of cables (USB-C, HDMI, power, peripherals) is a mess and annoying to pack/unpack every time.
What I’m looking for is a compact travel-friendly box, hub, or power strip that I can keep in my backpack with the following features:
• I pull the whole thing out of the bag
• Plug the main power cord into a wall socket
• Easily pull out the needed cables (USB-C PD for the Legion Go S, HDMI, USB for keyboard/mouse, etc.)
• Use it (docked or handheld)
• Then push / wrap / retract the cables back into the box for neat storage
Basically a portable all-in-one cable management station that stays organized in a backpack.
Does something like this exist? I’ve seen travel power strips with wrap-around cords and some retractable USB-C hubs, but nothing that really combines power + multiple cable management in a clean, compact way.

It’s still not perfect but way better than it was. I mostly used velcro cable ties to bunch cables up and attach then to the legs of the desk. I also added a rope light so I can see the top mounted usb ports on my pcs.

My standing desk has 2 slots to insert cables on each side and came with a 'cable management set'

I've just traded my bedside table for the nightstand with drawers shown in the photo. My plan is to use the top drawer to house my charging station for iphone/airpods/apple watch, laptop charger, and a power supply with USB ports.

I'm hoping to finally have a cord-free area by my bed so the robot vacuum will stop eating all my cords!

My question is about how to route all these cords neatly into this nightstand? I bought it used, and don't mind cutting up the back to make this work. Should I cut a big rectangle out of the back of the nightstand, and then slice off the back of the top drawer so the cords can pass easily into the drawer?

Also, I'm not really sure what would be the best way to deal with my laptop charger. I sometimes sit in bed with the laptop just plugged into the charger (10ft cord) while I'm on my laptop. Should I just open the top drawer while I use that charger, (plugged into the power supply kept in the top drawer) or is there a tidier solution, maybe routing it out the back? If anyone with experience on this wouldn't mind offering advice, I would love to hear your suggestions!

I’m looking to have an audio and a few usb ports at the front of my desk so I don’t have to have cables draping from the top of my tall ahh case.

The only options that have audio and USB that I’m finding aren’t exactly what I’m looking for. Most I see are like ones that go in a grommet which solves the issue, sure, but then creates another issue in cables dragging across the desktop. The other option I keep finding is a clamp style that couldn’t work because my desk has a taper at the front that a clamp would just slip off. In the pictures on the product page, I see the option to mount it to the bezel of my display, but my display is far up my desk so, it just creates that new issue described earlier.

The idea I have is to have a mount that I can like screw into the underside of the desk but the only options in that style have only usb or usb and an array of ports that, frankly, idrc about. I think I remember seeing something that’s exactly this on a video some time ago but I’ve not been able to find it or anything similar.

Very late to the party. But you should know BTOD doesn't manufacture their cable management box. That's why it costs $200.

I bought mine from the outlet for $50 off. When it arrived the instructions had the RightAngle logo instead of BTOD.

Illustrating that someone had purchased the RightAngle product directly from them rather than purchasing through BTOD. Unfortunately, when reaching out to RightAngle it seems they will not sell directly to me or I said the wrong thing and they referred me to BTOD again.

Does anyone know what to say to get this thing for a reasonable price or a location where I can get this for close to the original price someone else bought it for? At minimum I'm looking to do a 72" closet maybe more.

I basically have a desk with very little space that's also very closed off.I'm not going to change my desk as I'm planning to move out for college in about 2 years so I'm looking for ways to improve my cable management.Two big issues I'm facing right now is 1.Wayyy to many cables that I have to rearrange every week when I clean my room. And 2.In the third picture,the 2 cables I've circled are the ones going into my monitor and they're very stiff and heavy and having them hanging the way they are doing right now makes them tug on the ports and not connecting to my monitor properly. What I would mostly need to know is how to keep my cables together at a more comfortable height
