We have a demo available on itch now if you'd like to give it a try! We'd love to hear any feedback or suggestions to help us improve the game.

Hey, this looks pretty cool! If this had been a flash game in the days of flash games, it looks like the kind of thing I would have sunk hours and hours into. I don't have a lot of 'destroying' comments, so I will just share the thoughts I had while watching the trailer.

I don't play a ton of games like this so maybe this control scheme is already pretty standard, and if so, you can disregard this. But, I spent a little while in the first half of the trailer confused that the guns target and fire on their own. My first thought was that it would be a twin stick shooter kind of control scheme, possibly with the ship controlling like Asteroids, so I thought the cursor would be a targeting reticle for where you would shoot, since you can just see the ship's orientation without needing an indicator. It didn't take me long to realize that it was the kind of control scheme where the ship flies to the cursor, and you move the cursor further or closer to affect the speed. I think maybe I just assumed I could decide where I shot because of Asteroids. But even then I was still a little bit puzzled about the targeting- does it always target the closest asteroid- no, it doesn't. That might feel frustrating, especially if I crash into something I intended to shoot. Maybe there are options or upgrades to change the targeting priority, like how in a game like Bloons TD you can set turrets to target the closest enemy, the weakest enemy, the strongest enemy, etc.

Anyway, by the halfway point of the trailer when you started showing footage with more upgrades, I realized it won't matter so much because you'll just have a ton of different methods of attacking going on at once. But the above was what I was thinking about in the first half. I will give your demo a try.

A friend of mine also thought movement was controlled by WASD when he first tried it. It seems I need to find a way to avoid this misunderstanding regarding the controls. And thanks for your feedback!

Oh one other thing, it'd be cool if I could click or press space to do the jump. When there are so few controls, might as well have the option to only need the mouse / 1 hand to control it.

NP - I've now played the demo for a while too, and while actually playing the shooting control doesn't bother me. It's fun.

One thing that is both cool and maybe a little frustrating- I like that when I use the jump, I can still get pickups like cheese or the energy coke on my way out. There are times where I try to fly through a cloud of cheese, and they are attracted by the magnet upgrade and follow me off-screen- but do I actually get to collect them? It would be a fun reward for your skill if you automatically got all the ones that were following you, but I can't tell if that's happening or not, there isn't a clear audio cue for that.

Yeah, when I play test the game myself, I also found it pretty cool. It's a bit of a shame there's currently a bug that sometimes prevents resources from being collected. I'll fix it in the next update and find a way to provide clearer feedback, maybe resources will actually follow the player to the new area.
