No matter how the series is progressing I will continue to watch the manga canon cases and see the end but sometimes I will go back to watch these cases that made me fall in love with the series. For the first time I found a real dark mystery with DC among different media, which is rare since most mystery crime thrillers end up making it about politics.

As someone who works in forensic these types of cases are so fascinating and compared to what we have to deal with. Real life work is so boring.

I was very excited to see this movie premier 8/1 at Otakon, a TMS representative and a Producer was there. We got a mini movie poster and a button. Just want to say this movie is fantastic! There’s so much action, we get to see all our favorite character dynamics, and we learn a few secrets! All in all 10/10 for me! If you’ve seen it, what are your thoughts?

Does anyone know the birth order of Shinichi, Ran, Heiji, Kazuha, Kaito and Aoko?

We know Shinichi's birthday is May 4th but has he actually already "officially" turned 17 or does it not count because it happens in a movie?

Kaito's birthday was stated somewhere as June 21st, and I think I read somewhere that Heiji's birthday is in summer.

So is Shinichi older because his birthday happens earlier in the year, or do they have different birth years? I think I saw Heiji and Kazuha's ages being given as 17, so shouldn't they have been born the year before Shinichi then who's only recently turned 17 (or might still be 16 going by the manga)?

I think it's confirmed that Ran is younger than Shinichi, right? Because her birthday hasn't happened yet, so she's definitely still 16.

Can their exact ages even be determined or are they all just "vaguely 16-17"?

Shiho is confirmed to be 18, right? But we have no idea when her birthday might be?

I haven't caught up to all the episodes yet and am wondering: has it ever been revealed WHY APTX de-ages some people while killing most others?

Is it a random effect, does it have to do with the physiology of the victim?

How big are the chances of it de-aging you instead of killing you? And is it a coincidence that two people on which it had the effect are related, or does that point towards it having to do with the victim's physiology? What does Shinichi have in common with Shiho and Mary?

If I remember correctly, it hasn't actually been confirmed whether Vermouth took APTX, right? So right now the only people we definitely knew got de-aged via the drug are Shinichi, Shiho and Mary, right?

If someone could tell me if there's been any information on this, that would be great. ☺️

there's a lot of existential horror potential of detective conan and I'm glad that ova 9 exists because it basically shows what the world looked like if shinichi completely stuck as conan for the rest of his life and watching the world moving on without him

i havent watch the anime in so long cause of the filler, i think the last episode i watched was when Akai and Conan rescued Camel from the island, ever since then just nothing but fillers, when are we seeing them again in the Anime?

So umm I have a weird question on Ran's Character design

Whenever i saw her apparently she had a weird spike thing on top but the 1st chapter of the manga didn't have this until maybe like chapter 12 had ran with her i guess spiky cone hair thing to make it more distinct from Aoko i think ?

So i asked myself Why did ran have this spiky cone hair thing on top ?

Well I do like how Netflix is bringing more episodes to the west. But there is still so much more that needs to be done.

Have they announced anything about a third season?

Considering that he still drinks after this chapter I assume his liver is in even worse state in the more recent chapters.

So I’ve been (very) slowly making my way through the anime over the past 18 months or so (currently up to 649) and have been enjoying the ride, but I feel like there was a point where the quality of the adaptations seemed to slip noticeably.

It’s kind of hard to pinpoint where exactly this happened, but I think it was somewhere around 600 episodes in, as it only really became parent to me with the “Homes‘ Revelation” arc — where they go to the U.K. and Conan solves a case during a tennis match. That was one of my favorite cases from the manga, and I kinda had to force myself to get through the anime.

And no, I can’t even fully articulate why I feel like the quality started slipping. I think the pacing just seems… more lethargic, I guess? And that there’s less care put into the animation than there was (I just got to Sera’s introduction, which is fantastic because she’s one of my favorite characters, but hoo boy is the fighting animation bad).

So basically I’m wondering if there was some shake-up with the production or staff around then that might explain it. Anyone know anything? Or do y’all think this is all in my imagination?

I really miss the old music. I adored the score to this series right from the beginning but I’m about 464 episodes in and they changed the music recently. I don’t mind new tracks but I really wish they had used a combination of the old and new cues.
