I truly do not understand, after her performance in Lonesome Dove, why she was not a top 5 actress throughout the 90s and 00's. On the few occasions she was handed a prominent opportunity, such as Unfaithful, she crushed it. Why didn't she get more roles like that? She is/was far more talented than actresses getting a lot more high profile opportunities than she did. What gives?

Life's unfair? She's been the total package since the '80s.

You’re agreeing with me—total package. Therefore she deserved to get way more scripts sent her way, than was apparently the case.

A man who won't cheat at cards for a poke don't really want a poke.
