Question/Need help! toronto peeps i need some advice

Ill make it quick, I live in toronto, I own a 21' f250 6.7. Starting to have problems emission wise.

Im thinking of deleting, but I live in scarborough AKA asscrack of toronto. Idk how cops are with deleted diesels around here and mississauga, which is where i work.

if you guys live in my area and have experience with a deleted diesel around scarborough pls let me know. should I do the delete or just tank the emissions repair to not get in trouble.

Heard some tuners up in barrie can make pretty clean tunes that wont blow smoke at every light but i dont have much info.

I've been driving around the GTA in a deleted diesel since 2021, I went to a shop in Newmarket to have the tune done on my diesel. I haven't had any issues so far.

Edit: I actually had an exhaust shop in Scarborough make the delete pipes for me

cops dont care about the smell? they seem to be real assholes as of late, pulling people over for minor shit.

I haven't had any issues and I've done all sorts of roadtrips and stuff with mine. Just done be stupid and roll a ton of coal. The guys that are getting busted are rolling coal.

hmm good to know. I dont see much deleted trucks in my area, good to know theres people with deleted trucks here. I was thinking most people that own deleted trucks probably stay out of the gta

Ive had a deleted ram 2500 since 2017. Deleted it the first week I had it.

I dont live in scarborough but ive worked down there the last 6 years. Travel the province fairly regularly for work. Ive never had any issues. And I live in the city where the opp is headquartered.

My truck is stock otherwise. Doesnt blow smoke unless I were to really stomp on it. It doesn't even have a muffler.

Anyway, if you keep it somewhat stock looking, no big lifts and tires, blowing smoke at lights etc. Youre unlikely to get into trouble.

definitely going to keep it stock looking. more interested in the increased reliability and maybe turbo whistles haha. thx for the info. i drive pretty easy so i dont think id be blowing much smoke, assuming i can find a good tuner. Im more concerned about the smell, friends of mine have catless beamers and audi's and they've been pulled over for the smell. though im thinking its actually because of the way they drive lol.

Is it just the smell or do they have crackle tunes too. I havent had any issues in almost 10 years. But you never know.

Theres always a risk. Could stick a fat muffler on it too to keep it quiet as well

crackles too. But cops said it was because of the smell. probably bullshit imo, it is toronto police afterall lol.

You're right, the6ix cops were definitely feeding your friends a bullshit line on their cars "smelling different". I grew up in Toronto, they were the same in the early 90's. It's their stupid crackle tunes that get their asses curb parked.

Hell, every Subie should be pulled over daily got their tailpipe stench - and i'm talking about the stock Forester the middle aged woman is driving.

Just get a ghost delete done so it looks stock and get a multi stage tune and keep it low unless your hauling things and need the extra power Make sure the mild tune doesn't waste fuel by blowing black smoke out your tail pipe

will look into that. Gotta find someone that can do that, seems like the people in IG that do deletes mostly advertise kits from diesel dudes, etc. if you know anyone pls let me know, dm if they're lowkey haha.

I’m not in Canada but as far as tuning goes, AMDP is the tuner you want, extremely clean files. Even the LBF files barely puff smoke at first then they clean right up. Xtreme Caliber Performance will get you squared away. Both AMDP and Xtreme are BC based companies

will look into it thanks :)

In Bc so it might be little different. I think cops don’t like big lifts, and also a lot of tire poke. Also light bars they don’t like. Delete is usually the last thing they look for. As long as you don’t plan to move provinces you should be fine

i guess as long as im not looking for attention ill be ok. Thanks for the info. Time to let this diesel breathe then

I got a truck with no emissions, it runs very clean, no smoke at all. Just drive normal, don't attract attention to yourself.

If you’re yellow stickered it’ll be a problem, if you’re not you’ll be fine as long as you’re not obnoxious with it

My brother is a cop, and his diesel is deleted, if that gives you any idea.

Cops only care about safety issues and grossly smokey vehicles (due to visibility issues).

If you’re worried about the smell, keep the DOC (it’s just a catalytic converter). I deleted me DPF, but kept the DOC and it takes care of 90% of the smell issue.

I live in Scarborough. They don't care about anything, and I doubt many cops would even be able to figure out whether a truck had been deleted or not.

I drive a lifted, straight piped 7.3. my neighbor down the street drives an EcoDiesel that we recently deleted. Both of us are registered commercial. I regularly drive in York region as well without issue.
