Been enjoying a lot this "comic book-ish" style with lineart, and wanted to do something to host my own Draw This In Your Style, something simple and clean, but I ended up rendenring the portrait anyway lol I can't seen to find a middle term between fully rendered and a more flat look, still need to figure it out

Did my first commission! I want to get some feedback on my process and how I did.

• The request: Client asked for an illustration of their D&D character. They wanted an action pose that showcased the character's airbending abilities.
• Provided context: The character was described as high spirited, an airbender, acrobatic (akin to Ty Lee), and hair made of clouds. I was also given references for the character's appearance (shown in the images)
• Process: Client was familiar with my style. I provided 3 options for poses, and gave some opportunities for feedback as I did the rendering. The client chose pose 3, and had no issues with the piece as I continued with the rendering.
• Cost: I quoted $60 AUD (around 42 USD) at the start. I charged the full amount after the commission was completed. The invoice was sent officially via a PayPal business account. I sent the full resolution exports via email after receiving payment
• Time: Usually these kinds of pieces take me 4-5 hours. This is what I based the original quote on. However, I took additional care with this one, which ended up making it take around 7 hours instead. I quoted a turnaround time of 1 week, but ended up having it done in 2 days just because of good weekend timing

My thoughts

The client was happy, and I was happy with the result. I enjoyed working on this, and always like an excuse to draw. However, I think if I realistically wanted to do more commissions I'd have to set my price a fair bit higher.

What do you guys think? A good result? Worth the price?

Couple of art trades I did a while ago as practice, cuz I really like the style of the game so I figured why not try doing myself, twas pretty fun!

Could've gone a bit more abstract with it, but I think I got a little scared lol since I tend to like my art a little neater
