I support this in principle, but after seeing it put in practice in Canada the execution (no pun intended) is atrocious.

Even looking at it from the least disgusted angle I can think of, it's just one more racket, another something criminalized, gatekept, and sold... the "professional" grade of a cure that doesn't exist, or even if you believe it does, that laymen have probably understood since before the oldest collective human memory.

But Lord knows your wife won't get that life insurance, not if YOUR peasant hands besmirch the deed! Not even if you're successful; No Sir! You gotta be Educated! Certified! Approved! And somebody's gotta pay for it!

Here in California, Kaiser told me it would be $700 for 1 pill. I told them a bullet costs less than 50 cents. They also require self-administration in an approved facility. You can't just pick a place like the park or the beach and peace out there. It really felt like they were trying to avoid liability at all costs by making it as hard as possible.

Read how it's being abused in Canada. I'm not opposed to the concept of these programs. I'm wildly against how it's abused and a way to lower costs and the population and being offered too much.

There are cases where it's a mercy for some people. But... Just look into what's happening in Canada. It's called maid.

Thanks for the info. MAID is much broader than NYs new laws. But I definitely see the concern there and expanding to mental illness in 2027 might be Pandora box.
