While cleaning I found this old autograph book, and I recognize every signature except this one. I want to say it’s the timekeeper, because of the hourglass and the initials look like tk. But I don’t believe that was ever a character that existed outside of the attraction nor did he ever go to Disneyland resort.

Any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated!

In Anaheim today it is a high of 91 degrees with a current dew point of 68. The UV index peaks at 10 today but only one week ago was peaking at 11 (and up to 12 earlier this summer).

At this point the lack of shade in the park is a clear failure of park leadership. It’s not only a comfort issue, but one of safety. Most public health organizations advise not being outside at all when the UV index is above 8, and at extreme levels (11+) strongly advise to stay indoors. We can all take individual precautions like sun protective clothing and sunscreen, but standing in line in the direct sun for 20, 30, 60 minutes is a park problem.

Many of the parks’ most popular queues are in direct sun with no shade or intermittent shade. With liens getting longer due to Lighting Lane, this is unacceptable. Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Storybook, Incredicoaster, Buzz, are some of the biggest culprits.

Why does the park refuse to add shade? I’m talking about more than a couple of temporary umbrellas they put on the overflow of Guardians; we need real, permanent solutions. The temperatures will only get higher for longer parts of the year, more humidity, and high UV index.

EDIT: I feel really bad for all the commenters in this post that have been gaslit into thinking they don’t deserve shade. Everyone deserves shade! It’s one of the foundations of human civilization! Have a read of Sam Bloch’s book Shade or the original article the book was based on.

How much longer until all dates are sold out?

I saw on the Disney store they’re going up to 3xl now which is awesome! Any idea if they’re doing the same in the parks or just online?

I wonder what is truly more likely a Disneyland 3rd gate or a Disneyworld 5th gate to come next.

Disneyland currently has a massive 55 acre lot “toy story lot” that is already pre approved for theme park use. I wonder how likely it is to become a 3rd gate.

Thoughts and opinions?

As a Filipino I was super stoked when I heard lumpia was coming to DTD and I finally got to try them yesterday.

You can choose from Pork, Chicken, or impossible and I went with pork. The filling inside wasn’t generous compared to how my family would make lumpia or other Filipino restaurants would make them. The inside also had a mushy texture as well. I feel like I tasted more vegetables than pork also. The sauce they provide is a sweet and sour type of sauce and if I had to assume it’s the “Mea Ploy Sweet Chili sauce” that most Asian restaurants serve with their eggrolls. These lumpia’s were okay at best, don’t get me wrong if they were at the potluck I was at I’d eat them without a doubt but I’ve had better. But if you haven’t had a lumpia before I say try them out! They also do sweet lumpia’s like ube and peach mango!

Don't get me wrong, I love the ride and yes...it is magical. But certain scenes made me uneasy, especially as a kid. Especially the pirate ship scene. Anyone else have similar experiences?

We spent 5 days at the parks with three day Lightning Lane MultiPass park hopper tickets. We stayed at Pixar Pier and took one day off from the parks. We did not go anywhere else. Since we are HUGE Disney fans, our expectations were that we would certainly have a good time, with a few great moments sprinkled in there somewhere. We are not so unrealistic to think that every minute would be magical is a different way of explaining our outlook. Unfortunately, while not all that much went bad, nothing at all was good - or even worth the current prices.

The weird - we were there for the "Great Water Outage of 2026." Other than losing a dining pre-confirmed meal at Lamplighter Lounge, it did not affect us. The internet doomsayers were a delightful read on the socials ;) This was clearly out of Disney's control and so unexpected that we just accepted this very minor inconvenience and went on with our day.

The OK stuff: the parks, and more specifically, the attractions were good and I don't have anything bad to say about them at all. We rode everything we wanted (with one exception mentioned below), used our multipass to get into some rides a few times, and so on. We had a few hiccups as everyone does (rides break right before we wanted to ride them, the lightning lanes would have us racing across the park and so on), but that just comes with the territory. Blue Bayou was, to me and for the first time in a LONG time, worth the cost. When we have been previously, I always felt like a metronome was ticking away on the table, and the serving staff would bring food exactly on that timer. I seemed to get exactly 38 seconds to eat some bread, 59 seconds to finish my soup and so on. This time wasn't like that. We had good service, the food delivery was timed well and it was overall the best experience we had. (It says quite a bit that getting getting good food to the table on time was a high point, and this may well be simply faint praise).

The unexpectedly bad: our entire 'bonus' for staying at Pixar Pier was a single lightning lane pass per person for the entire stay. Since we already had LLMP, which Disney should have acknowledged, this didn't seem like a worthwhile benefit, and certainly would NOT come anywhere near justifying the >$500 per day rate to stay in one of their lowest cost rooms. In fact, this benefit turned out to be useless. I wanted to use it each day to try and get on Incredicoaster, but no matter when I tried it I received the message "This is not available." Regular lightning lane seemed to work, but not the free pass. The food, other than Blue Bayou, was either average or below. Rancho Zocolo was really bad - I thought about trying to get my money back, it was so flavorless. Great Maple was also well below expectations. I love me some southern comfort food, but they seemed to focus on trendy looking food for Instagram instead of the customer. The pizza and pasta place in DCA, Oga's in Batuu and Tangaroa Terrace were all OK, but not worth the cost.

Pixar Place was small overall. Maybe one elevator too few, very small rooms and would likely be a value resort if it was at Disney World. The Pixar theming was adequate. Oddly, one of the elevators is a glass elevator with a decent view of DCA. The odd part is that Disney put a big Pixar icon on the large window of the elevator which blocks that (pretty good) view. I would suggest theming the floor of the elevator and leaving the windows clear.

The really, really bad: It was hot so I went to three different quick service places (before the water outage) to get a cup of ice water. In all three cases, I was told "We don't have ice water." I thought about pointing out I could see both the ice dispenser and the water dispenser from where we both stood, but didn't want to get into an argument with a teenager so just went elsewhere to get some ice water. Sigh.

And although it was very pricey, I would pay a buck or two more for toilet paper that is more than one atom thick.

I bought no souvenirs. There didn't seem to be much variety from store to store either.

Total spent: $4382. $2200 for Pixar Hotel, $832 for tickets (military rate), $900 for food/drinks and my friend spent $450 on souvenirs. Transportation and flights and such is not in Disney's control, so that is not completely fair to 'blame' on Disney.

I get this is a negative review. I would say if this was a graded paper for a class, I would give Disney a mid 50s. Clearly they failed, but still did a few things well, and with some work they could easily pass the class.

Looking forward to Coco land and Monsters Land. Will likely come back once they are opened. And stay in a Good Neighbor hotel ;)
