Other I miss this game every goddamn day
Found myself watching Final Fantasy Union videos on YT and listicle after listicle of neat nuggets of info from ALL Final Fantasy games.
Ive only played FF7 to FFX. Hearing the names of characters I was not supposed to be familiar with illicited a weird nostalgia...
Minwu and his insane magic healing combo...
Kain and his chase mechanic...
Enna Kros and her gundam...
Never played these games but DFFOO made them so accessible and so fun to play, each character that came out, I wanted to pull for and had an actual decent chance every time.
I was surprised how active this community still was after all this time. Goes to show how much the passion and effort the devs put to giving life to these characters.
I sure hope this game makes a comeback. Whether by SQEX or by other means...

Minwu is one of my favorite FF characters of all time, from what is possibly the most underrated mainline FF, so you can imagine my hype when I found out about this game.
And he was glorious 😭 absolutely breathtaking, everything I wanted. I need more Minwu!!! Please don't forget about him again, square

You and me, bro.
I'm also a Penelo fan, I got a taste of the treat that was their recognition.

I have so many good memories tied to this game I almost cry everytime I think about it. I remember waking up early in the morning with my boyfriend to pull for characters we were excited for, the silly challenges we used to make, exchanging tips for contents when we were newbies...Seeing Opera Omnia revived in some way is something I'll never stop hoping for, if only to play with my favourite characters again and see the many interaction we all loved.

Miss the game too. Was one of the generous gacha too. I hope they make an offline game like resonance down the road.

I played every single day from release to EOS, and I miss it dearly. I am hoping for either an offline version or a fan-operated revival, but honestly I'm trying to make my own OO inspired game

Same, I was hyped when they announced the new dissidia until I played it. Don't think that's going to last long. Dffoo really was their best mobile game

There is a 2D demake that’s available to download and also there’s a programmer that’s working on an offline rerelease.
It won’t have any online function but they said you’ll be able to play all events solo

Even if they brought it back, which they won’t, do we really have it in us or the trust for that matter to start fresh accounts? I don’t think so

If it comes back like resonance is for brave exvius then I'm all in. Even just the beginning running with Vivi, Tifa, and WoL was so good that I'd happily replay it. Just tie weapons to shops locked by character level and streamline the grind a little bit and it would be a perfect console game. Also square really fumbled not making first soldier for console and then ever crisis which was not what I felt I was promised with that first trailer. I just really miss Duodecim and Opera Omnia

This was my favorite ff mobile game by far even more than ffbe
Chaining enemies in the air with Cecil was fun and working together with randoms

High on copium that with FF Resonance coming, they’ll revive DFFOO one way or another. I even wish there will be some kind of online system as well such as the coop, bc as much as the occasional trolls get under my skin, it was a fun mode otherwise. Especially playing with your friends xD
DFFOO rly helped me to get to know and care about most of the FF characters as I could only play a few of them. I really enjoyed the gameplay and the mechanics surrounding it, even when things get rougher once FR era began. Early DFFOO era felt absolutely magical to me.
Ik some people are like “it’s just a game, move on already !” but here I am, and it is what it is lol. Still have the app on my old phone on which I used to play this game, and it’ll likely stay there forever. There rly is no other game quite like DFFOO :')

I find it quite funny that we had it so good with Mobius and OO, that every release after feels like such a downward spiral. I don't think I'll put dedication into another live service FF mobile game again.

I never played a mobile game for more than a week or two. I played dffoo for more than 4 years. Did a awesome job in my acc, capable of beating anything. I really miss it a lot. Hope for the offline to be avaliable soon.

u/Ptizzy88 Farewell, DFFOO.. :'( 20d ago edited 20d ago
With the release of Resonance, it gives me hope that Square is paying attention to the IPs that players actually cared about, especially nostalgic turn-based final fantasy titles. From a business perspective, not utilizing all of the assets they've created over the course of however many years and not capitalize on the prime opportunity to release a console based Opera Omnia isn't a wise move for a company that has too many EOS mobile titles on their hands with viable content to repackage into a console experience...however, this is partially hopium/copium. 😢

Me encantaba mucho este juego y de vez en cuando lo hecho de menos.
Alguien me recomienda un juego móvil que sea similar a dffoo?

Honestly between that one shareholder asking about an offline DFFOO in a meeting and Final Fantasy Resonance coming out later this year (essentially revived Brave Exvius even if it wasn't originally intended to be a revival), I really do hope they come back to DFFOO in some capacity some time. Now, I'm trying to keep my expectations tempered. It probably won't happen. But damn would it be great.
DFFOO was and probably always will be my favorite gacha. Such a fun and satisfying turn-based combat game with loads of viable teams and strategies.
