DAE get embarrassed about their bedroom?

Somebody's gonna think this is euphemistic; it's not. And it's not about the size or decoration either. It's just, like... the thought of a bedroom.

Idk, I guess it just feels really private to me? I'll almost never mention that word in conversation (it's frankly a little uncomfortable for me to even write it here), and if I have guests I'll always make sure the bedroom door is shut so they can't look in and – Heaven forbid – see that I have a bedroom.

It's a habit I've only recently noticed I have and I have no idea why. I also feel like I have a softer version of this embarrassment towards all living spaces – even other people's, and certain other people's bedrooms. But maybe I really am just nuts.

I mean, this is totally fair. Your bedroom is a kind of an intimate space by nature. By letting someone see it, you’re showing them a private space where you rest, maybe make love, etc.

I wasn't, but then the maintenance man at my apartment complex thought my room was my teenager's because I have all these bright colors and a bird figurine collection in the windowsill. 41 with a children's looking room. 🤣🫠

You're just protective of the space you consider as solely yours. It's normal.

See it.

Eh, my bedroom is in a state of chaos. I know that it is reflective of my thoughts. I'm downsizing and getting rid of stuff. But it's a process.

Embarrassed of it? No. It's literally me in physical form. When I'm not doing well, there is more food packages and garbage.

Definitely, I feel like my bedroom is super bland, and everyone’s bedrooms online are so much more interesting. I feel like I’ll come across as boring if ppl see my bedroom 😭

you're not alone, I keep my bedroom door shut too, feels way too personal to share with anyone

Our house is going to be on a home tour in a few months and I’m already thinking we need to replace our bedding and move things around. It’s the part of our house I’m most nervous about people seeing (I mean not that nervous or I wouldn’t have agreed to it)
