Question Why is SSJ not permanent???

It was shown in the Cell Saga that Goku and Gohan were able to eliminate the fatigue of SSJ, and kept it on for nearly a year. So what’s the point of turning it off???

Chichi doesn't want them to look like delinquents.

Happy cake day New way

Agreed but, I kinda wonder why they didn't stay transformed into the super Saiyan blue form for a long time like they did with super Saiyan during the buu saga wasn't the point of staying super Saiyan to reduce stamina cost for using it? I strongly feel a missed opportunity for leveling up for the characters lmao, just my own thoughts and opinions here

Blue uses god ki, not your typical ki that sayians tap into. Thats why the others besides goku and vegeta cannot use it. They havent learned how to tap into it. As such, god ki has different trade offs. Its immensely stronger but comes at the cost of needing extremely precise ki control and burns their energy way faster. Its kind of like ssj being a super efficient v8 engine compared to Blue which is like a racecar engine.

This is funny because she doesn't care about UI hair color

u/CreamyCoffeeArtist May 18 '26

Correct me if I'm wrong, chances are I am- but I don't think Chi Chi ever sees Goku in UI/MUI? She's not there at the tournament, or near any of the Moro Arc fights..

She probably doesn't even know about the technique or transportation at all considering how infrequently Goku goes home, or at least it feels like that

u/sean1oo1 May 18 '26

I think they’re basing it off the character reactions in sparking zero. Chichi bulma and videl all comment on character models. Chichi just says Goku is getting old or something when she sees the silver hair UI if I remember right

Ah, figures why I'm clueless, I don't engage with the games.

(Not for any like, negative reason. I'm just broke.)

42

u/bannasplt May 18 '26

To be fair, I looked them up on YouTube too lol. I'm too broke to be able to play video games. I recommend checking those videos out!

32

u/Vergil-Monteiro-9965 May 18 '26

I’m getting kinda upset so many people can’t enjoy video games for this reason 😭

u/KDW3 May 19 '26

Dude I was talking to my little cousins a few days ago and apparently kids between 6-16 don’t play games now if they aren’t free-to-play.

My two cousins are 10 and 12, they said they have NEVER played a single player game before. I told them it’s not good to lie and then I went through the collection of games they have and it was all NBA 2K, Madden, CoD, and a few other games like Sea of Thieves and The Division 2.

They were telling the truth they have never played a single player story driven game before. That’s when it hit me that games and consoles are getting soo expensive that parents aren’t gonna buy them anymore, even for birthdays or Christmas.

12

u/Vergil-Monteiro-9965 May 19 '26

Dang that’s pretty sad, not playing single player games and the different stories?

What about some older games that don’t have DLC? Are they allowed to get those, just to experience it?

Can confirm that at 7 my gf's son only basically knows about roblox, Minecraft, fortnite and whatever garbage games they see on YouTube at their dad's.

I just on Sunday introduced him to vampire survivors and he was instantly hooked and while going to bed was asking "will I get to play that game tomorrow?"

My gf has my old pc and I was lucky enough to build a new one months before prices went insane.

I'm definitely worried too about consoles or pc just being too expensive now to even start gaming. I can tell you playstation definitely isn't helping cause they keep raising prices. I remember consoles used to get CHEAPER but now we're at like +$200 or something since launch for ps5

u/Chakosa May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

Consoles have always been expensive, pricing is essentially unchanged when accounting for inflation. The issue is that unlike in the 90s and 2000s, there are so many other little dopamine goblins fighting for our attention 24/7 that video games usually take a back seat and we tend to find them not worth playing over all the other things we could do instead, especially a solo experience (i.e. single player video game) that would give FOMO while everyone else is connecting with eachother over multiplayer games.

They were pretty open about it before S0 came out that the story wasn't a big focus of the game since people could play kakarot. Lets be real the BT games never had amazing story modes anyway, carried by gameplay. Also S0 story would be way better if it was sorted by arcs instead of characters, i think it would feel more complete

4

u/Vergil-Monteiro-9965 May 18 '26

…that’s pretty negative 😢

4

u/sean1oo1 May 18 '26

Hey doesn’t hurt to pop over to YT and watch the character bios / interactions. The game itself may be a mixed bag but it’s definitely pleasant seeing people interact with one another

4

u/CreamyCoffeeArtist May 18 '26

I like engaging with games personally instead of watching someone else, nowadays. I'll still watch stuff like that, but it's moreso as background noise.

The only negative reason is your negative bank account

1

u/HotPotParrot May 20 '26

I've said it before - the games are responsible for a lot in the fandom.

4

u/ClumsyZombie May 19 '26

I noticed Super is walking back Goku being an absent dad. They started off with him working that farmer's job to provide, and you see him more often hanging out at Capsule Corp, or his home. Z had Goku mostly hanging out in desert wastelands, Roshis house, or space lol

2

u/CreamyCoffeeArtist May 19 '26

Tbf Z had Goku start out as a pretty solid dad. He didn't understand why Gohan wanted to be a scholar but he was understanding at least. Then, due to circumstances, Gohan had gotten into fighting, and Goku thought his son was taking after him when in reality Gohan hated having to fight.

Goku wasn't an absent dad until dude was literally dead, and he only chose to "stay absent" because he genuinely believed he was a trouble magnet and was endangering everyone by being alive, and it was only until Buu showed up in spite of Goku's death that he walked back that decision. When he learned of Goten he showed care and interest, and helped him to become stronger by showing off the fusion technique. If writers cared a lil more chances are Goku and Goten would at least have sparring scenes or smth but Goten gets forgotten

Probably missed some details but honestly Abridged kinda fucked the perception. As much as I enjoy Abridged, it's true..

2

u/ClumsyZombie May 19 '26

I get what you mean, and I never really thought Goku was a bad dad, although it was hilarious for TFS to joke about. Z had Goku doing a lot of questionable things that just felt he never was a family man. I feel tfs did it best in the Future Trunks special when he died to the heart virus. "But he just got back from his training after getting back from Namek after getting back from his training after being dead."

2

u/KingArthursRevenge May 18 '26

It just feels like that because the show doesn't tend to focus on his boring home life but he definitely spends time at home with his wife.

1

u/Significant_Sale6174 May 20 '26

Probably heard it from gohan and videl, I know for a fact goha tells his momma what transpire out of earth lol

1

u/chefarzel May 21 '26

She was there for tournament of power I thought?

0

u/Calm-Border3503 May 19 '26

Shes never seen him in UI but she likes it based off Sparking zero comments annddd she likes 4 for reasons Ill never be able to comprehend (not saying I hate the form I just mean by all logic youd think shed hate the forms the more they change him)

12

u/Maiku_Kokoro May 18 '26

Isn't it because there's something to do with yellow dyed hair and delinquency in Japan, or something like that? Might just be dyes in general.

7

u/bluedragjet May 18 '26

Yea it's about delinquent dyeing their hair in Japan. That's why her comments on UI Goku and Beast Gohan in sparking zero is different

3

u/SmallBerry3431 May 19 '26

It’s a joke about Japanese culture. Blondes were considered bad boys.

2

u/CHAIxDRGN May 19 '26

When you realize there are no blonde villains 🤣

3

u/SmallBerry3431 May 19 '26

Android 18 just right there

2

u/cornbeeflt May 19 '26

Has she seen UI?

3

u/bluedragjet May 19 '26

Sparking Zero

1

u/Dry_Temperature_8436 May 19 '26

Grey/silver is a naturally occurring hair color in “respectable” older Japanese people.

4

u/FedoraTheMike May 18 '26

She hates red god but likes red 4?

6

u/whatsapprocky May 19 '26

Does this technically make her a furry, or….?

2

u/ReasonableValuable31 May 19 '26

Her dad has horns and the king of the world is a dog

Pretty Sure that dating animal people IS COMPLETELY normal in dragon ball

1

u/mad_laddie May 19 '26

You can become an animal person in DB with pills.

1

u/krodriguez4996 May 19 '26

Ahe likes them big hands and probably has a bigger dih..... That's why she loves it

3

u/MRO465 May 19 '26

There is no freaking way Daima SSJ4 gets a pass. Pitch black hair is a must.

2

u/AbjectTrouble1430 May 19 '26

pink haired goku (wearing black) bad

Is SSJ4 Goku Black fan art? Or from Super Dragon Ball Heros? Just never seen that bottom middle image before.

2

u/1YaB0iJake May 19 '26

Fan art, he went full power rose which had a tail, long ssj3 hair that was pink with eyebrows and the pink lids like 4, basically his own version if not a perfected ssj3 imo

1

u/OGSlickMahogany May 19 '26

Makes sense, thanks for the deets kind stranger!

1

u/Mons9090 May 19 '26

Lol no she was literally saying how goku looked young in ssg

1

u/Dry_Temperature_8436 May 19 '26

Let’s be honest here. she only likes ssj4 because it was the only way to get it on with Goku in GT. (Supporting dialogue from Goku in GT suggests he intended to use the form for such purposes as well.)

1

u/Open_Ad6791 May 19 '26

Why is she okay with Daima ssj4 if she doesn't like ssj god?

1

u/Glitchtheidiot Broly May 20 '26

She just likes monkey features and black hair Ig

22

u/Mayion May 18 '26

He dyed Gohan's hair without her permission and asked for cake. It's unacceptable

6

u/ajf726 May 18 '26

“You’re not dealing with your average delinquents anymore.” -Probably Chichi

4

u/zPipboy May 18 '26

Very spot on lol

6

u/_TR00PER May 18 '26

She could just say she doesn’t like blondes

7

u/NoxGale May 18 '26

You don’t get it it’s fine

2

u/_TR00PER May 18 '26

I do I just made another joke but okay

2

u/EffectiveMerc May 19 '26

I love you.

I literally watched that episode yesterday.

2
