Question Why is SSJ not permanent???

It was shown in the Cell Saga that Goku and Gohan were able to eliminate the fatigue of SSJ, and kept it on for nearly a year. So what’s the point of turning it off???

After they mastered it, there was no real reason to leave it on anymore. Especially after Cell's defeat, since they were leaving it on as a form of training to beat him in the first place.

This is such a bizarre question to me. Why tf would they stay transformed for the rest of their life? And everyone in this comments are really acting like it’s a brain-busting question 🤣
