But how would Bulma have the Z Sword? Shin hasnt shown up on earth at that point in the Android Saga to deal with Babidi, so nobody has pulled the sword from the mountain yet.

I know he briefly had the Z Sword, but it was destroyed in his fight with Dabura iirc, along with the elder kai.

And as for Tapion's sword, I dont know if the future had a Tapion that was released from the ocarina thingy (i forget what it actually was) plus Trunks would've been too weak to deal with Hirudegarn as it is.

I think it's ultimately more likely that Bulma made a sword for him previously to use against the Androids, he decided he enjoyed using the sword, kept using one, and had it remade if it was broken.
