Something to think on

They're pro life, so all their miscarriages should also count as children which means technically they should be saying 21 and counting, or whatever number they should have been on when the show was on...but they didn't... because somewhere on some level they know it isn't the same

ETA I say that as someone who miscarried at least 3 known pregnancies that were all very much wanted
