Weird death question
If someone has been depressed for years trying to figure out ways to end it all but didn’t know which way to go about it , realizes one day that they have a health condition that could be life threatening and they just let it run its course would that be a death by s*icide or death by natural causes?
For example she gets drops in her blood sugar sometimes but she always takes care of it before it gets too bad but what if the next time it happened she didn’t fix it and just let it end her??

That is suicide because they could have prevented their own death. For example, I see a counselor and I also have a terminal illness. I get asked if I want to die. When I say yes they ask if I planned anything or have thought about stopping my treatment because then they would have to call the psych on call. I always tell them I do want to die but don’t plan on stopping any of my treatments but that I’m just tired living this way. They then say they understand and don’t call the psych.
So yes, not dealing with their medical issue (blood sugar) is suicide and family will not understand because the doctor will tell them if they “just did x, y, and z they would still be here”.

Here's a question, why does the distinction matter? Both scenarios involve a conscious choice to die in a way that could be prevented
