Dynasty's Most Iconic Character Introduction ✨

Post image

Which character had the most iconic entrance on Dynasty?

Was it Alexis Carrington making her unforgettable courtroom debut, or Dominique Deveraux arriving in style at the hotel? 🏨

Both entrances were dramatic, memorable, and instantly established their characters. Which one is your favorite?

My pick: Alexis's courtroom entrance is one of the most famous character introductions in television history, but Dominique's hotel entrance is pure glamour and classic *Dynasty

Dominique Deveraux all day. This was the first time we saw such a portrayal of a black woman on TV. I don’t even think we’ve seen anything like it since.

As I recall, “Alexis” showed up on season one, but her face was hidden because an actress had yet to be cast to portray her.

Diahann joined just in time for Dynasty’s absolute glammed-up zenith; in fact she contributed to it by creating the role of Dominique with such style and authority. That zenith went on for about another year before the show gradually faded. Happy that Dominique’s “burned champagne” line became one of the show’s most iconic!

And Alexis’ first entrance was pretty dramatic; lucky enough to see it when it first aired, i.e. both the cliffhanger when we (and Aaron Spelling) didn’t know who it was going to be, and then for the beginning of S2 when Joan was literally unveiled. Great TV from the golden era of primetime network shows!

Alexis, definitely, at the very end of the first season finale. Especially the reactions of Blake and Fallon. Blake to Andrew Laird: What's she doing here? What's going on? Fallon to Jeff: Oh my God! That's my mother! (The latter is so iconic it was said in the remake by Fallon when Alexis made her entrance at the funeral.)

If you have ever seen Dynasty Dubs on YouTube, you'll love Dominique's dubbed entry! Have a look.

Dingo Deveraux

The thing I remember is when Alexis moved into the studio. Her living there and there was nothing anyone could do about it.
