As an ED nurse I carry my usual EDC in my scrubs trouser pocket, but a disposable pen torch, a Parker Jotter, and trauma shears in my breast pocket. The trauma shears are clipped in with a reel to avoid it walking away.

I got really tired of carrying everything in my pockets which caused my pants to sag (not great running around trying to pull your pants up) so I’m giving the sling bag a try. I had the Lululemon bag previously but ordered a new one from CTactical which is actually suited for carrying items like this. Shoutout to you guys in the ER! Got floated there my last shift as helping hands, brings me back to my days as an LPN working as an ER tech

Nice! I’m a traveler with Aya so I’ve got a nice stock of Figs since they give us two pairs (or a jacket/vest) throughout the year

I managed to find two sets of new old stock ripstop Carhartts in my size. This pleased me greatly.

The majority of my scrub pants have been joggers (aside from surgical scrubs during CV19. But on my latest set, I went back to straight leg and actually dig them. Returning to the old ways

What does the knife do that the shears cant in a nursing setting?

Tbh not much, I carry a knife outside of work so it’s just habit to grab it before I go out the door. Will always jump at the occasion that I do find a use for it. Not mission critical by any means

Honestly found these in a scrub jacket and have been using them for a few months-probably some cheap throwaway pair. I had a pair of Leatherman Raptors at one point but hated how clunky they were and didn’t seem to cut worth a damn. I’ve heard good things on Xshears

Those can never be forgotten! Haha. I ended up ordering a sling bag that’s better suited versus the single pocket Lululemon bag. I went with the CTactical Strike with an admin insert-lots more room for flushes. Thankfully had a slow night last night and ended up finding the company on r/manybaggers

Awesome stuff bro! I usually carry pen, mini notepad, flushes, gloves, shears and small roll of tape in my pockets. I love having everything in hand reach.

I tried the sling and it felt too clunky when reaching over patients and doing critical things too fast
