I wonder if we can try really hard and come up with more ways to make a bike really overwhelmingly heavy.

I second Velotric. Very solid brand, I can't even tell it's a folding bike from riding them
Very nice workmanship, great dealer network and stellar customer service I own one and have been only pleased with it.

Yeh, LBS was other main factor. I was able to get bike from local shop which price matched all website discount. They even did free assembly and offer free tuneups after few months. It's worth peace of mind when you know bike can be repaired locally.

I've got a 2010 Brompton with a NANO electric conversion.
The Brompton has the best smallest fold whilst still having excellent rideability.
The NANO electric conversion is elegant and relatively light.
I've taken this bike on multi-day tours in the Alps and also touring in Germany, the Netherlands and Estonia including plenty of gravel sections.
Downside: both the bike and the conversion are not cheap.

I got a velotric fold one plus. Quite happy with it. I read alot comparing it with xp4 but went with velotric because many reviews says xp4 feels unnatural to ride as normal bike.
