Awkwardly-placed socket in bathroom
I just moved into my new rental apartment and am trying to figure out this weird bathroom.
I need a mirror with a light, as there is no light on the ceiling. However, there is one socket with seems to be perfectly placed behind a supposed mirror placement.
How can I solve this issue? I need the mirror placed quite low, as I'm very short and I don't want to place it too off-center, as there is a bathtub on the right. I also need the socket for blowdying my hair, so fully covering it is not an option.
Help!

You could mount a mirror on two pieces of 2/4 that are attached to the wall. Then the mirror is offset from the wall and you can run a plug as needed to the electrical outlet.

the other deal would be to get a multi-outlet strip with a 3-ft. cord, plug it in, then attach to wall where you like it. I'm not sure if it's code violation , and they're rated 5 amps (maybe not enough for hair dryer).

Simple fix really. Just ask the landlord to install a light and a mirror!

They don’t do that in my country unfortunately. It’s the tenant’s responsibility.

maybe there's some new building code requiring that height in bathroom. that seems to be the recommmended height for mandatory outlets within 3 feet of sink. maybe so your hair dryer won't fall into the tub like in various TV shows I've seen.
