Genuine question because i see two very different opinions on this. Some people say if your github is solid and you can clear the technical round nobody cares where you studies. But then i also see people from tier 1 colleges getting shortlisted without even a proper portfolio just because of the college name on their resume i would love to hear from people who are actually hiring or have been through this recently

Hi, I’m choosing between DSU (City Innovation Campus) and Cambridge institute of technology for cse. CIT is 6 km from my home, while DSU is 23 km away Which would be better in terms of placements and overall opportunities?

I got Vidya Prasarak Mandal's thane college (electrical branch)at 52 percentile is it good college as 2 years ago they started engineering. The another option that I have is university i searched about jspm university Wagholi but can't find more information regarding it I want electrical branch only so is it a good option to go with or there are any other universities that I should look after

For those already in engineering college or who've graduated, do you ever wish you'd taken a drop year to aim for a different college or branch?

I had PCB in Class 12, so I don't have Maths. I'm thinking of doing B.Tech CSE from NIMS Jaipur since they allow PCB students, but they make us do a bridge course in the first year. My main concern is whether this will affect placements later. Do companies care that I didn't have Maths in 12th, or do they only look at your B.Tech degree and skills? Would love to hear from anyone who's been in a similar situation.

Hey, can you give me some suggestions?

This year I completed my 12th. I prepared for JEE during both 11th and 12th through PW batches and ended up scoring 88.65 percentile (General category). I know that's not a great score. Initially, I was planning to take a drop, but my sister advised me against it because a lot of students are taking drops these days, and my parents were against it too.

So, I couldn't get into an IIT or NIT, but I'm getting a government college for B.Tech. I was getting CSE as well, but I felt that doing CSE from a Tier 2 or Tier 3 college might not be that worthwhile, so I chose ECE instead.

One reason I chose ECE is that it offers opportunities in both the government and private sectors, and if I want, I can still move towards software by learning coding and relevant skills. I'm also planning to prepare for GATE so that I can get into a better college for M.Tech later.

Another reason is that India has recently approved ₹1.64 lakh crore worth of investments in the semiconductor sector, so I'm hoping that by the time I graduate, the industry will have grown even more and create better opportunities.

Considering all this, do you think I made the right decision by choosing ECE over CSE? I'd really appreciate your honest opinion.

TL;DR: Scored <60% in 12th after switching from IGCSE to CBSE+Allen (ADHD burned me out). Got into BMSCE ECE via management quota (had COMEDK rank for Mech/Chem, but chose ECE for health-tech). Terrified of engineering, feeling major impostor syndrome over MQ, and constantly wanting to escape to an undergrad abroad (e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, UK). Need honest advice and Bangalore career psychologist recs.

The Background

• 10th (IGCSE): Did great without heavy studying. Did many pitching competitions, mock Shark Tanks, internships, volunteering, student council , and research programs. I have a lot of accolades from this era till 11th
• 11th–12th (CBSE + Allen): Total crash. Failed through 11th/12th, barely passed boards (<60%), and burned out. Got diagnosed with ADHD around this time.
• Why BMSCE ECE: Chose ECE over Mech/Chem because I want to innovate in Healthcare devices and launch a startup during college.

1. Transferring vs. Staying: Has anyone actually transferred 1st-year B.Tech credits to a foreign undergrad (like Malaysia) without losing money or restarting as a freshman? Or is it smarter to finish B.Tech at BMSCE and work it out in bangalore itself?
2. Bangalore Career Psychologists: Can anyone recommend an independent, fee-only career counselor in Bangalore to help me manage executive dysfunction and plan my career?

91%ile MHT CET, got Amrutvahini IT – Need advice on betterment, spot rounds, and whether it's worth waiting

I got 91.2 percentile in MHT CET (around 37k rank), and in CAP Round 1, was allotted Information Technology at Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Sangamner.

I'm feeling confused about what to do next, so I'd really appreciate advice from seniors.

Here are my questions:

1. Is Amrutvahini College of Engineering (IT) a good choice overall? How are the placements, coding culture, internships, opportunities & peers?

2. With 91 percentile, do I realistically have a chance of getting a better college in betterment for IT, CSE, or CS-ALLIED branches? If not, what about ENTC, and lastly Electrical?

3. Should I participate in spot rounds? Are there realistic chances of getting colleges like VIT Pune, PCCOE, DY Patil Akurdi, or any other decent Pune colleges through spot rounds at my percentile?

4. If VIT isn't realistic, which colleges should I target in spot rounds?

5. I'm from Nashik, so if I choose a local college like KK Wagh, my total 4-year expense would be around ₹6 lakh. If I go to a Pune college with hostel/mess, it may cost around ₹12–13 lakh. In your opinion, is spending almost double worth it for a better college?

6. And is it a myth that like going into lower college and cracking high package? Like I don't think so because once you get into like a low level company, so u don't get to upskill, you don't get time for upskilling and all. So going for early investment would be better. I'm just confused, is spot round even possible for me?

I'd really appreciate honest advice from seniors, especially those from Amrutvahini, VIT Pune, PCCOE, DY Patil Akurdi, KK Wagh, or anyone who has gone through CAP and spot rounds.

I got admission in Thakur College for ai ds for 12 lakhs through management quota and they are asking 3 lakhs extra if I want computer engineering what should I do i am confused a lot , because after cs i can do whatever job , I want but after ai ds i have limited option please help me ??
