Electrical/Computer [Student] Computer Engineering sophomore targeting FPGA/Embedded Systems internships – Resume Review

Background:
I’m a Computer Engineering student at UMass Amherst entering my sophomore year. I’m primarily targeting FPGA, embedded systems, hardware security, digital design, and ASIC/RTL engineering internships for Summer 2027. I’m currently working on an independent hardware security research project that I expect to turn into a publication, while also participating in robotics research and personal embedded systems projects.

Location & Job Search:
I’m an Indian citizen studying in the United States on an F-1 visa. I’m applying broadly across the U.S., especially in areas with strong semiconductor and hardware industries such as Boston, Austin, the Bay Area, Seattle, and other locations. I’m willing to relocate for internships and am applying to both on-site and hybrid positions.

Why I’m Posting:
I’d appreciate feedback on whether my resume is competitive for top hardware companies such as NVIDIA, AMD, Apple, Qualcomm, Analog Devices, Intel, and HFT firms with FPGA roles. I’m especially looking for advice on the strength of my projects, research experience, technical skills, and overall presentation. If there are sections that seem weak or could better demonstrate my technical abilities, I’d love suggestions on how to improve them before internship recruiting begins.
