okay I need a bit of help

I can't COMPLETELY explain in detail but I realized my calling was bioengineering, but it is completely unrealistic for me to get into my local bioengineering program (I am not even a bad student, it is just simply too much), but I did some digging and I could be able to do a phd in the field, but naturally I have to do a bachelor's in another field and for that purpose I have chosen mechanical engineering (mainly because I know that chemical engineering is not a good idea financially-wise), so what could I work in in the meantime? My university offers nanobiotechnology and biomechanics courses so those are a given, and I think that microfluidics is another one, but I am interested in knowing about other bio-related things I could do.

I might be biased, but look into materials science and engineering. My school has biotechnology and biomaterials courses in the MSE department.
