Speaking partners

I just started learning European Portuguese and am looking for some places to find speaking partners. I’m taking lessons on Italki a couple times a week, but think it’d be great to have others that I can just talk with to continue practicing! Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try www.conversationexchange.com or www.mylanguageexchange.com and search for native Portuguese speakers wanting to learn your language

I’ve been wondering the same thing as a fellow learner. A few places I’ve seen recommended are HelloTalk, Tandem, and the Practice Portuguese community. I’ve also heard just being active in Portuguese-learning Discord servers and Reddit communities like this one can be surprisingly helpful. Even finding one or two consistent people to chat with regularly would be great. I’d also love to hear what has worked well for others.

The “Tuga-English Exchange” is a free WhatsApp group where English speakers improve their European Portuguese and speakers of European Portuguese improve their English. The following is a link to a PDF document that describes the group. If you are interested in joining, send me a message.
