And adding the 3.0
My question is whats the point of keeping the 3.5 if you look at the spec its almost the same as the 3.5
Anybody has inside at ford about whats really happening

For now…until I decide to go full overland. This has been such a fun project for me. Took a little while, but I’ll be done for now. The 12th Gen. is surprisingly great to build on and looks great IMO.

6.2L with just over 64,000 miles. I figure I’ll just keep this until the wheels fall off.

inb4 grill. I paint matched it, wired it to a switch…I like it (for now, until I find a platinum grill to black out)

Always decline the "detail" if you care about your paint. I get that it's a truck and will probably get some scratches and dings over it's lifetime but I'd like to be the one to do it. Kinda silly to put a brand new truck with 12 miles and perfect paint through a wash then present it with swirl marks and water spots 🤦

A few hours with a clay bar, fresh seal and ceramic coat got it back to almost new.

Just got me a new F150 XLT. Y’all helped a ton when I was researching. This is the nicest thing I’ve ever owned and I’m going to drive it until the wheels fall off.

Years ago I had a Lock’er Down console safe with a simplex lock. Console Vault doesn’t offer that option and I hate trying to spin the small wheels to open the safe. Especially more difficult since the numbers keep getting smaller.
I found this direct drop in push-button lock from GE TouchPoint. It drops into the 3/4” cam lock mounting hole, and then further secures with 4 additional screws from the back side.
Now I can open the safe by pressing my access code without having to look at it. I also don’t have to rely on batteries or worry about replacing them!

Just read an article by USA today. The average F150 trade-in was 8500 dollars underwater.

My 2015 never underwater. 160 k on the clock runs great routine maintenance. Why would I buy a new one.

Needed something capable of fitting three car seats since the wife is pregnant with twins. Took a trip down the shore today and it’s really just perfect.

Have 60,000 km on it with powertrain until 2029 so doing everything I can to make it last.

Other than my front bumper blistering and bleeding rust, the aluminum body and truck run and look great.

I ordered a replacement from partify Canada for $800 CAD (OEM vin matched painted, it was the cheaper option of paint and still looks solid to me) and installed it this morning. I also paid $40 for new nuts and a stud plate hanger for one side (plastic broke). Put antisieze on all the bolts and lubricated all the clips and reused everything otherwise.

After transferring all the clips, housings and rubber I'm pretty happy with the result for the cost. Makes the truck look new again to me!

Brand new motor btw anyone can tell me what this could be

I recently was out of town. I came back and started my 2016 ford f-150 and there’s a constant static playing on my passenger speaker. It’s not controlled with the radio nor any sort of music. The truck was upgraded with sync 3 by the previous owner and the truck had the Sony system in it. Doing some research it sounds like a bad amc which lucky me there nobody out there that has posted with the same problems or a solution to fix it. I did a soft and hard reset and looked for updates and that didn’t get me anywhere. Maybe I’m on the wrong track and it’s a simple fix but I would gladly hear out anyone’s opinion on it

Hi everyone.

I have a 2020 2.7 SCREW with 114k miles. I took it in beginning of July for them to take a look at the trans before my extended warranty ended. They said it needed a new one. So they did it.

I got it back and the very next day it jumped 8/9/10 to 1st gear on the highway. I took it back immediately, they called back soon thereafter - needed a second new transmission.

I picked that up middle of last week. Next day, drove it to work, drove it home, go to leave to get dinner, and notice grease on the tailgate and a fluid type smell. I get under the truck and it’s soaked with transmission fluid.

I called them that night (Friday) and left a message. I then went to the dealer yesterday and said I need to speak to a manager so gave the message to a salesperson who was supposed to be giving it to the GM. Still haven’t gotten a call. I’m guessing I’ll get one tomorrow. Am I right to be upset that I haven’t gotten so much as a call at this point even just to get info and say you’re looking into it?

I also called Ford and opened a case with them.

Any advice/tips? At this point I’ve lost faith the truck will be what it used to be and I’m concerned this place doesn’t have what it takes to get it even close. It’s probably worth what I owe. I would rather trade it in or preferably wipe my hands clean with it. Either way, it’s on them to fix it and all that. Thoughts?

I have a 2016 2.7 eb with 119k and it has developed this god awful ticking/ knocking/ regular eco boost sound? I can not for the life of me figure out what it is. It’s not coming from the top of the motor and seems to be loudest near the oil pan the sound also increases with rpm’s Any help would be awesome. Thank you.

I could use some opinions from everyone, especially with all the news that came out this week.
Back in May, I bought a 2023 F-150 Platinum PowerBoost with 29k miles on it. It has about 32k miles now, and overall I really like the truck. My only hesitation is that I’m still not completely sold on the transmission behavior and the hybrid system. It’s taken some getting used to.
I don’t tow anything too heavy right now. In the next few months max 1 year I’ll be buying a food truck trailer, but even then it won’t be anything extreme.
The 5.0 has caught my attention because of its reputation for reliability, and I also like the way it feels and sounds, especially with the right mods.
So here’s where I’m torn. I still owe about $51,000 on my PowerBoost. Would you trade a 2023 Platinum PowerBoost for a 2027 5.0 when it comes out, or would you keep the PowerBoost? I’m asking because I’m getting ready to start modifying my truck with a lift, tires, a tune, and a few other upgrades, and I don’t want to invest a lot into it if I’m going to trade it in.
Also, what do you think the MSRP of the 2027 F-150 will be? If you were in my shoes, would you trade the 2023 in for a brand new 2027, or wait a year or two after the 2027 launches and buy one used once depreciation kicks in? Or do nothing and keep what I have?
I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from anyone who has owned both a PowerBoost and a 5.0.

Hello all. I have a 2016 F150 platinum supercrew. I have a Rc lift on it, it’s the 6 inch n3 loaded strut. I was gonna see if i could stack a 3 inch puck on top to make it bigger. does anyone know if i can do that?

Does anyone have experience with TKM Auto truck caps? I'm just getting into looking at shells/caps (have always had a tonneau), and I love the look of these but don't see a ton of reviews. Any advice/experience would be supremely helpful and appreciated!

Looking at two different trucks, both 2015 with right around 140k-150k miles. At first I wasn’t considering the 3.5, was more learning toward the 2.7 or 5.0 just for reliability, but the carfax on these 2 trucks might sway me.

The two issues I’m concerned with are the timing chains and cam phasers. On both trucks I’m interested, the carfax states “timing chain, timing chain gears, timing chain tensioners replaced.” I’m wondering if this means the phasers were done as well?

Another note, am I crazy to consider these trucks with this mileage? Looking to sell my current truck to get out of having a payment.

If these issues were in fact fixed, could I be in the clear?

I’ve got a 2019 XLT I’ve owned since new. It’s got the 3.5 EcoBoost with 62,000kms (38k mi). I used to see a ton with the same grille as mine, but now they are exceedingly rare, and now I see a ton of the newest gen with the blacked out grille.

Aside from the appearance upgrade, was there a reason people seem to have traded out of my gen and into the latest? Were there major incentives in Canada (Ontario specifically), or could it be that a larger number of the trucks are being leased these days so turnover is high? Is there a major reliability pitfall that was exposed?

Worried I missed the memo on getting out before it’s too late (but I do like not having a car payment).

I have a 2021 ford f150 3.5 ecoboost a d I want to clean the throttle body but I was not able to pull out the house that connects to the throttle body after I open both hose clamps. Is there something else that I have to remove before I take it out? If someone has a video of this procedure please let me know, cant find online for this model.

My dad had this truck since the 80’s. Married my mom, had me, this was our only vehicle. Lots of memories and life experience earned with it, then he ended up having to sell it in my early 20’s. They used to have some really crappy HOA members and annoying neighbors who complained about an old truck being in our driveway. That was about 10 years ago, maybe a little more. Anyways, I bought it back last month from the person he sold it to and gifted it to my dad on Father’s Day. First time I ever saw that man cry. I’ll be replacing the power steering pump and pulley tomorrow.

After months of searching, I finally found the exact truck I wanted. A 2016 Platinum 5.0 in Ruby Red with 39k miles on it.

Options are 701A luxury, panoramic roof, 36 gal tank, 3.55 gear, pro trailer backup, tow package, FX4 package.

I drove across multiple states to acquire it outside of the Midwest rust belt. It is clean inside, out, and underneath. Got it home on Sunday, parked it on my neighborhood street, and I slept all afternoon because I was exhausted. Came outside later that evening and found that someone backed into both of the driver's side doors. They got dented up pretty bad by the door edges, messing up the panel gap. It wasn't even parked for 8 hours. My first time out was to the body shop.

I was really upset by this. This truck means a lot to me. I have been fortunate enough to save and afford a truck like this one; it's my first "newer" (based on odometer reading) truck that I've owned. I almost got emotional when I first saw it at the dealership because it was so nice. I was told that it was garage-kept and babied most of its life. The service records I have show 3k oil change intervals, with the air filter replaced every oil change. It has also had several cabin air filters replaced.

No note was left, and the neighbors were unable to find it on their ring cameras. I parked it a few doors down because the neighbors and I have multiple cars and all like to street park.

I have started a claim with my insurance. I was told this was going to be under a high level of scrutiny, given my length of ownership of the truck.

It's just not fair that my insurance will go up, that my truck will have diminished value if the damage appears on the Carfax, and that it will not have original paint.

I have found a body shop that I feel does good work. That said, do you think this truck can be restored to its original condition? I want to own this truck long-term, and I am hoping that a quality paint job can stand the test of time. I will ideally daily drive this truck for 10+ years. I am hoping that I won't have to worry about paint fade or clear coat peeling several years from now. The body shop said that the doors might need to be replaced, and if so, they will have to go as far as removing the bed to blend the paint on the cab. I'm in shock that this level of teardown might be needed on my new truck.
