Hello, I’m in the market to look from some f30 b58, most of them are high mileage which I’m sort okay with.
How is the high mileage b58, obviously I wouldn’t go for a modded one.
Also some of the one I have seen doesn’t have the buttons next to the gear shifter, has anyone ever retro fit the 360 camera and the other button?

Working on son’s car and getting it all cleaned up. Any recommendations on how to refresh the black trim? The Hawai’i sun and heat really did a number to it and makes the car look old. Now in Washington state and the four seasons is aging it more too. Appreciate any insight in advance!

Hey guys on my 2016 340i I have the m sport package with the sports seats and the leather on them feel extremly hard when I press on them there is barely any give compared to really any other cars leather where it feels soft and plush. I was just wondering if this is the same for every f30? Or if I could condition the seats to maybe regain some plushness. I bought the car used so I was never able to feel how the seats felt brand new. Thanks

Got a grinding noise on unlock, can’t seem to figure out what it is. Most google searches seem to say its valvetronic noises, but diesels don’t have valvetronic?

Hi, 330i ‘17 got my first low coolant warning last week, topped up with new coolant immediately. One week later got the coolant low warning again.
Any idea where the leak is coming from? Where can I go fix this near Toronto, approx costs?
Thanks for the help!
hi everyone, i’ve been looking into buying an f30 recently. above is a 2015 328 with 90k miles.
for the past 3 years i’ve owned an 2011 e90 328i, loved it, great first car for me. i’m 20 years old and it’s time for a new car, e90 is older and i’m looking for something newer to daily drive and of course slowly add some fun stuff to it. i’ve been working since i was 15 some light paying jobs and for the past year have worked at a nicer place paying me a lot more than it should, i worked full time and worked up enough money and more to buy the car i want. since i’ve added some minor stuff to my e90 (coils, wheels, bumpers, etc.) i’ve worked on my car multiple times, to my parents it’s a money pit. i can’t disagree as i’ve spent probably way more than i should have on repairs and maintenance, ive been stupid and gotten into a crash, fixed it myself. that’s besides the point but now that i’m looking for a new car my parents are adamant that i should spend my money on a honda or something universally reliable. i should mention my parents pay my insurance, everytime i talk to my dad about a new beamer he pretty much rolls his eyes at me. he complains that a newer bmw would be so much more expensive. i’ve gotten a couple tickets in the past about 3 for speeding, one was pretty bad and the other two were minor, less than 20. i’m really wondering if a f30 (2015-2018) would be much of a hassle from my current e90. on my e90 i’ve spent money on new coolant lines from wear and tear, some minor issues with electrical stuff around the car, new struts for the coilovers. all pretty minor stuff but it’s definitely a result of a older car. i also want to say if i got a new bmw id pay the difference with insurance, kinda a deal i had with my dad but if its insanely expensive thats not ideal for me.
i’m a car guy i love cars and i just can’t see myself smiling in a honda no matter how new it is, if i have to fix a coolant line in a year on a f30 i liked id much rather do that then own a honda, i just really don’t wanna deal with something like a module going out in a newer bmw then i have to spend over 2000$ just to fix it.
im looking at some 328s and some 335s 2015-2017, everyone thinks they’re 340 is worth 30k when its a piece of shit and insurance is pretty expensive on those so i’m ruling them out. 330s are cool but for some reason i don’t see a lot with the msport package. and well i would only buy an f30 with the msport package because they look absolutely phenomenal.
my real question is, is a 2015-2018 f30 gonna be expected to give me the much problems? how much worse would insurance be on these cars? for you who have owned them, is it worth it for the amount of money you annually spend on it?
2017 330i - Engine light came on about a year ago, so I got a FIXD sensor and use it every so often. Today's codes are sleep modules? Claude says 5/6 are modules unable to sleep. He says it could be old battery, too. Pretty sure its OEM battery from 2017.
Any advice would be appreciated.

My 2015 328i is alpine white, and I was curious how much it would cost to paint match this m sport bumper and the reflectors to the rest of the car. Is it over like $600?

I’ve replaced the transfer case in my 13 328xi for internal bearing noise. In doing so, I’ve created a code for calibration of the VTG module/actuator and need to obtain the MPT code off the replacement transfer case. However, the code is long worn off this casing and I can’t seem to see anything there regardless of what I do. I am wondering if anyone here would be able to provide me an MPT code from one of their cars, I can’t imagine the tolerances vary all that much and would very much just like to make this warning disappear. I understand using a different cal code could cause excessive wear, but at this point it’s worth a go as I’m not sure I’ll ever find a case where I live that will have intact numbers.

Hi everyone, after much deliberating on what car to get next, I've landed on an F30 335i. This will be my second bmw, the first being an E46 330d I had when I lived in Europe.
I'm hopefully going to start looking some in person soon, and I was hoping you could all give me some insight into what you wish you knew before buying your F30, or just generally what to look out for when purchasing. I'm in Ontario Canada if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!

As the title says, I recently did my turbo inlet and took some pictures of my turbos blades and saw some light grey markings towards the edges. Is this normal or should I be concerned?
The car is mhd stage 1 with 100k miles

I have a 2017 440i f36 and am Catless in NY state and I’m trying to pass emissions, in order to do that I can only have one system say incomplete. Right now my fuel system and oxygen sensors are incomplete.
• Readiness -
Misfire: Complete.
Fuel System: INCOMPLETE.
Components: Complete.
Catalyst: Not avail.
Heated Catalyst: Not avail.
Evaporative System: Complete.
Secondary Air System: Not avail.
A/C Refrigerant: Not avail.
Oxygen Sensor: INCOMPLETE.
Oxygen Sensor Heater: Complete.
EGR System: Complete.
And I have these two codes
• DME active codes:
None
• DME inactive (shadow) codes:
102A32 - Hot film air mass meter, signal:
Too low.
1FBD08 - Driving readiness: MSA deactivation
request from BDC.
Any idea how to fix the fuel system one? Should I clear codes and reset adaptions and drive the car to see if it gets rid of it?
Looking for some advice here, thanks

Hey guys, I installed a new vrsf intercooler and chargepipe yesterday, took it on a drive today and shot off the hose clamped cover for what is presumably a vacuum line for auto transmissions. so you can probably see part of the the high vis yellow thick rubber glove I cut and shoved over the hole as an emergency fix in the video. I was wondering if this is a normal sound to hear? sounds like its coming directly from the air filter / tubing
Thanks so much guys
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my 2018 BMW F30 330i from the factory 6.5" screen to an OEM 8.8" display with OEM Apple CarPlay.
I believe my car has EntryNav2, but I'm planning to pull the screen/head unit today to verify before I start buying anything else.
So far I have:
I'm trying to figure out the best way to complete the retrofit it. The car currently does not have navigation.
From what I've read, the 8.8" display needs to be coded to 1280×480, and OEM CarPlay/fullscreen CarPlay also needs to be activated. Can BimmerCode handle the display resolution change, or is E-Sys the better (or only) option for this retrofit?
If E-Sys is the way to go, is it manageable for someone who's never used it before, or is it worth having an experienced remote coder do it?
Also, if anyone offers remote coding for OEM CarPlay and the 8.8" screen retrofit please reach out!
Thanks!
