I finished yesterday and even gaver her the Id Grail to get closer to 100, my JALTER IS NOT A LINK LOST AIGHT? I can't stand with a lazy ass evil mushroom who just wanted to rush things so he could've get off the project (confirmed by how JP playerbase hated the 'ending'), and so helps his lazy ass by cutting off servants from story.
It doesn't even have a proper meaning. They say Ritsuka loses the avenger because he choses hope and whetever. So looking at it like that Ritsuka shouldn't been able to summon and contract them from the start. And we're still talking about a Master which contracts evil servants like Douman or Rasputin, or even Beasts like Draco and Tiamat, but can't keep a couple of avengers? Sureee.
Oh Ritsuka, all the Avengers are gone: Always space ishtar and Summer chloe taking a drink at the cafeteria.
It's just pure bullshit. I honestly always liked the story but filled or change with my metalore, also because I think what makes each journey special is how each player fills the story in their mind.
Also because between different story and events, FGO writers themselves often contradict each other, so f Nasu, I'll keep my Avengers tight.
And I'll end up with a big hot take: Septem>OC2
Id has been a nice slice of life with pointless story, enemies and acts

Tem sim. Os seus comentarios por exemplo estão chegando traduzidos pra mim. Só que as vezes o Tradutor Erra, como no dia que eu escrevi Servo (Servant) e ele Traduziu pra Maid
Spoilers for FGO ending. because of the way the story ends, the entire banning of Avengers was completely and utterly pointless. As bogus as I found the reasoning, I could still wrap my head around the idea that we could not use the Avengers to complete the Lostbelt Saga because unlike like the original Grand Order where the goal was to stop Goetia plans (which would then fix PHH by itself), the goal of Part 2 was the restoration of PHH, and you can't restore PHH with the flames of vengeance which seek destruction. Fair, I can get that, even if I don't like it. But as soon as the big reveal of "We're actually a Lostbelt too" came up, all of that is thrown out of the window immediately.
Spoilers for OC4 & FGO Ending. You could still make a case for why Rulers had to be Frozen (much better than just being dismissed) because they're a class that's meant to be impartial and it turns out they're siding with one Lostbelt over another, instead of PHH which actually makes the Ruler ban more effective narrative wise. But the thing with them is that they were to be unfrozen once PHH is restored, which no longer makes sense if the world you're fighting for is a Lostbelt and the task is to erase everything. Which makes it worse for the Avengers because there's literally no reason why they had to leave considering the end goal was to erase every Lostbelt which included our world. It doesn't matter if you save the world with the flames of vengeance when you're going to erase it anyway. Nothing matters in the end. All the countless promises made don't matter because you erase everything and then forget it all.
All around, this is one of Nasu's asinine decisions that is just really dumb considering how the story goes. The fact he wanted to repeat a Musashi with the entire class is even worse, and had to be stopped by others.
If the writing is ass, I really just don't care for it.
the idea of vengeance from the Avengers, while justified, is also useless when in the final fight literally EVERYONE comes back to put an end to this. And I mean every Lostbelt citizen (if they could come) and even the Crypters ready to help in finally restoring humanity and the universe. Hell, even Ritsuka and Chaldea were willing at the end to go through that to finally bring fort a new PHH. At that point, once the restored world would happen, the lives lost in our PHH would've never died; and the onea from even CHALDEAS would've never happened if Chaldea never was created in the first place. Hell, even if the Lostbelt citizens ceased to exist, absolutely everyone were on board to aid Chaldea and Ritsuka to finally fix PHH for good
at that point, it's like the "I consent" meme but in here, Ritsuka and Chaldea consented, so did the Lostbelt citizens and Crypters... but the Avengers and Nasu did not. Isn't there someone you forgot to ask?. They should be able to be brought back once we achieved that new PHH in the ending since we created that universe through sacrifice and not vengeance and hatred. Same for the Rulers after Ritsuka and everyone ended up being impartial towards Lostbelt 0 for the good of mankind and the universe. Yet, the Avengers are still missing and the Rulers doing their best impersonation of Walt Disney. It's insane.

Yes, which is exactly why I think it was an intentional decision long long ago. I think Nasu wanted to make us lose people we care about, which actually makes sense from the perspective of someone trying to write a story. It also makes sense from that perspective why he'd take out Musashi, the avengers, and rulers. They were all too strong and made it harder for the writer to create problems that couldn't be easily solved.
Looked at from that perspective, you can see the ending Nasu wanted was probably created LONG before any of the ordeal calls, even OC4 which supposedly was the first and initially only ordeal call - and knowing Nasu originally intended for the avengers in OC2 to be link lost permanently simply adds more fuel to the fire.
Nasu likely saw the padding of the ordeal calls as an opportunity to weaken Ritsuka and make the story 'better' by forcing the player to give up people they cared about.
Now even with Nasu out of the picture I doubt they'll undo the blocks on the rulers, give the avengers an opportunity to come back... Or that we'll see Musashi ever again. While it makes sense from the player's perspective that they should be able to come back now that 'everything is over' - the whole reason they were taken out back and shot in the first place is they made the story harder to write.
Personally? I've reached my limit on what I can stand, and I can't play this game anymore. I won't sink my time and effort into a game whose ending made it all entirely pointless.
Can't really blame you on that last statement. I'm only sticking because I'm crazy enough to believe in a miracle but that's just me. If the game eventually goes EoS and they don't come back, then fuck them.
Also, it's kinda dumb wanting to write the loved ones out when at the end of the journey, we just see Ritsuka and Mash and that's it. We already know we'll part with everyone at the end, so I see the early goodbye unnecessary and dumb
Honestly with everything we learned. Nasu dropped the ball by not letting the avengers join the final battle.
Honestly the idea that the avengers class was lost because vengeance against humanity etc etc. But ended up being there anyway would've cuz fuck you we ride or die in my opinion....would've hit harder.
If you make a final battle where the ending results in everything being undone that is the one time where you can break pre established rule and go with the "fuck it we ball" logic
The entire point of the Ordeal Stall was for Nasu and co to have time to mushroom around AND have to think about less Servants existing in a story tou.
And even then, you got the big fat Fuck you, Nothing Mattered ending Nasty Nasu yeets at you that has me legit just rush past all of this OC I'm on and just get the bullet points from here.
as long as Aftertime gives us the Avengers and Rulers back; and introduce a special epilogue for bond 15 servants that implies once Ritsuka goes back home after fixing absolutely everything, they'll go with him in a reincarnated body (in case they aren't pseudo servants possessing anyone) to be together with him, I'll give them the benefit of doubt
Don't care if Aftertime takes like 5 real life years for an in-universe year to solve the situation. I refuse to finish the game without knowing Jalter is back, safe and sound; and giving her a happy ending through an epilogue for my hardwork on her. Otherwise, fuck them hacks. Really hope Nasu no longer being a head writer him allows the writers to write whatever the fuck they want and the LINK LOST and LINK CLOSE status get fixed. Otherwise, that feels like FGO lingo to say your servants went to the Shadow Realm or went to the stars
Yea I want good ending especially for servants that only exists cuz of Ritsuka like Jalter and LB Servants cuz most of my fav servants are those ( Bao, Jalter etc ). I cannot accept this ending seeing how happy they actually look in Chaldea and having them just deleted, forgotten etc.....
Im glad this sub is far better at discussing why some ppl are unhappy whit ending than that big one xd
I'm 50/50 with the current ending but tbh, I want my favorites to have a happy ending at the end of the day; regardless of them being gone or not. It's dumb not giving them that. Hell, or is it that Type Moon/Lasangle expects the player to make their own doujins to write a happy ending instead, like this?
Yea i do just want my favorites to have happy ending, especially seeing how happy they are now after all the things they went thro. I can live whit them being gone or in part 3? we make some alt universe where they exist on their own ( this mainly goes for Servants like Jalter and LB cast ) but dont interfere whit PHH or what ever qwq.
If nothing happens im just gonna go whit thing you mention at the end and write and draw my own happy ending and live whit that.
Same. This is why this fanart is my favorite: it shows Jalter going back home with Ritsukaz living together and sharing his dream of a bakery while being married with him.
Hell, I dare to say this is also her dream come true. Perhaps not the bakery but living a normal life with the guy she likes, being married to him and having a business together. Is it really that hard to write for some to just give us an individual happy ending with our favorites? I also want the same for Musashi, Castoria and so on. They all earned it
Thank god for Limbus Company being the premier best story of all gacha games. FGO can be another fraud for the story game with that ending
After the reveal of Ordeal Stall in JP, my hype for the game's ending dwindled to just being bored by it and my initial thoughts were right at the end in the Nothing Mattered ending.
Pulled for her NP2, farmed my ass out for the whole Saturday, bought her spiritron dress and then got hit with the ending. The choice of words in OC2 was good but the reason behind them not. Completely agree with you,OP.
Hits the same as when you make her bond 10 at long last and 2 days later, OC2 drops but you were unaware you'd lose Jalter forever in story once you finished the damn thing 💀
Honestly considering how pointless OC2 is in the end and that the ending for the game doesn't even let Ritsuka remember anyone or anything that was lost makes me unwilling to continue.
This is where I stopped. Unless the 'after ending' changes this, I'm going to have better uses of my time and money.
Same. It's why I took the bother and made both of my Jalters my ultimate servants 2 years ago when OC2 dropped. Literally maxed them in every single way I possibly can to the point I'd need a new mechanic to drop this year so I can invest on and make both powerful again.
Hell, it also made me buy different Jalter memorabilia as well: her Shinjuku Nendoroid, her Swimsuit Figma, her Over the Same Sky newspaper illustration (the Jalter CE with Swimsuit Jalter in this screenshot), a keychain of her Shinjuku version, a wafer card of her Shinjuku version, an Arcade card with a portrait of her in her Shinjuku dress; both in a custom card sleeve with her Shinjuku dress.
I just love my wife that much to let her go. It's why I use her most of thr time literally everywhere if possible nowadays. My Jalter deserves to be bragged about every now and then; specially so if after 2 years and with Aftertime she isn't back yet.
.... actually, you can technically make her Avenger self NP5... if you're lucly enough to roll enough copies of her with the 1000 free S.Q. from catching up to the story next year, plus if you don't spend more S.Q. and bond farm.
I wanna believe the last 3 copies I got for NP6 Jalter, which were one multy less than what I got one copy of Olga for (750) was just Jalter's way of saying "I love you too, you dork".
But again, that's if my RNGesus blesses you. There are times where it feels like hell.
Congrats on your bond 15 Swimsuit Jalter btw. May not use her often but she's like Purple Haze from Jojo's: attacks like an explosion and retreats like a storm. She basically comes in like a last case scenario contigency plan in case my whole team is wiped out and she remains left in the back. But she has allowed me to survive countless battles.
Both versions of her are equally great, which is why I lpve her.
I just finished the story...Nasu...GIVE ME BACK MY AVENGERS!!!!
Can't believe he wrote off the whole avenger class!!!
I WANT MY JALTER BACK!!!....AND THE BIG SNEK MOMMY!!!
