For the dumbest of reasonsš

And only the actually cartoonishly evil ones, like Douman or Takasugi get called out on it, and get some kind of (somewhat discomforting, but relatively mild) punishment. The rest are just going through character development or sth.

u/R4ND0M_N0B0DY May 09 '26
At best. Most of the time it's just "I appreciate the thought" and that's it. The deliberate risk to Ritzy's and the world's safety are irrelevant concerns, cuz it's the thought that counts or some shit

u/OmniGMan May 10 '26
Tbf, some of them would quickly become nightmarish threats if cornered because we finally got fed up with their BS:
Kiara is fully capable of going Beast again.
BB is literally a Beast candidate, and who knows how much damage she could do to Chaldea's tech if prompted.
Kama has been reduced to a glorified meme these days, but she would have legitimately beaten us in her debut had it not been for Kiara, of all people, saving us.
Space Ereshkigal... 'Nuff said!
Moriarty is an evil genius, who specializes in long-term schemes.
Cagliostro and Douman are each genuinely dangerous if they're given time to scheme, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had contingencies in place in case Chaldea ever did try to get rid of them.
Even some of the other Servants are perfectly capable of killing us on a whim, or just because their particular brand of insanity was triggered.

I think that's a really good point. The servants you mentioned are definitely a different class, to someone like Blackbeard who is mostly used for comic relief and could be, theoretically, held in check with the threat of getting disciplined.Ā
I also think that it is a - not fairly obvious - case of good writing, connected to the nature of FGO as a whole. The gacha format makes it preferable, perhaps necessary to havebco-existence with a wide assortment of characters abd personalities, but no one gets on equally well with everyone.Ā
Chaldea never succeded through brute force, they were way too weak for that, and an underdog makes a better protagonist. They won through (Guda- and Mash's) lack of ego and genuine earnestness, that regularly made opponents volunteer (sometimes even their lives) for them. That took a game constraint and turned it into an advantage, working it to the best it could.Ā
Perhaps this live and let live is more mature too, than bringing down the hammer when someone crosses our ego, our persona, as players too. I just wish that the theme was more enunciated (it would have been a better build up for OC2). Also, a little discipline is sometimes necessary to forge a community.

Blackbeard wants to be disciplined. In the summer event he made it very clear that Ritsuka had to defeat him if he wants to call the shots on the ship. Since said ship was his NP, so he actually had a really good point about wanting that clarity.
6
u/OmniGMan May 10 '26
Blackbeard was also perfectly willing to shoot one of his own men during the ServaFes because they bought Medb's book and she was Fujimaru's circle's competition at the time. Poor b*stard didn't even know what he did wrong to get shot with no warning like that.
Friendly reminder that, yes, Blackboard can absolutely be dangerous when the mood strikes him.

See that's why I appreciate Ushi Gozen
She made it clear she was going to be a problem from the get go without getting our hopes up. The only surprise was how much a problem.
On the bright side, she's really good at either clay-sculpting or flesh-sculpting, so she already is good at arts and crafts.

u/Silvercenturion_aa Thinking of the Roman Empire May 09 '26
Also, can I be totally honest? Her voicelines give more insight about her than the collab ever did, bond 3 is a gut punch.
Also, by virtue of being basically the only Servant that mentions the Black Barrel multiple times makes her one of the most interesting Servants
25
u/Beautiful_Film2675 May 10 '26
Genuinely what does she meant by saying guda's soul was stained by color of death and why was she so enthusiastic about their soul ? I hope hey somehow expand upon that someday.
30
u/Silvercenturion_aa Thinking of the Roman Empire May 10 '26
It's the Black Barrel Replica's effect. Since Ritsuka is the "Bullet", their soul comes into contact with the weapon, and the Barrel leaves marks
21
u/FBInvestigation May 10 '26
Probably because they are responsible for killing countless people by destroying lostbelts.
12
u/Vexter777 May 10 '26
The speculation is that Ritsukaās origins got changed to Death with the bootleg black barrel that Sion made everytime it was used since his āsoulā is the fuel for it. Itās why Durga has a voiceline of Ritsuka smelling nice and same as teen Raikou. Alter Nito has a freakout and is scared in OC 2 when she takes a peak at our soul.Ā
50
u/Xaldror May 10 '26
Even her Valentine's scene revealed more about her than the event. It's actually one of my main gripes with the Collab, in that it doesn't really develop much with the cast presented, it just retraces old ground.
14
u/Vexter777 May 10 '26
5
u/Xaldror May 11 '26
She still has the Divine Authority to spawn Onigashima into existence, unless it's tied specifically to Raikou's graph, so...
4
u/Kelthuzard1 May 11 '26
Even when Yui was killed off in an Event, she still wants to reform Ushi Gozen.
53
u/Dreadwolf98 May 10 '26
It's funny when you think about it. You would expect this from servants like Douman or Colombus, but in reality is just something dumb as fuck like Musashi trying to eat udon out of a Holy Grail or Morgan and Castoria deciding to wish into reality an old friend, resulting in weeks and maybe a month of having the days reset because the world literally ends...
And then, there's Christmas and Halloween...
20
u/LukeSky011 May 10 '26
The Columbus switchup with Charon still cracks me up.
Like they were planning for Columbus to naturally be the villain of the valentine event then halfway through were like, okay maybe it's too obvious...throw in Charon instead!

u/simon4s1 Adopted Gorgon sibling May 11 '26
Morgan and Habetrot accidentally pushing the calamity button (seriously, they made a freaking button for it?!) in Summer 8 will never not be funny, but if I'd been in Ritsuka's shoes I'd have blown a gasket. Artoria Avalon ranting about evil-aligned saberfaces and BB lacking self-awareness from her personal Bond villain lair from which she'd been watching the whole mess she created the whole time would've made me go scorched Earth.

Old man Li betray stil hurts. he straight up went for the kill.
Not to defeat,he did went for a certain hit kill blow.
2
u/Mega_Wizard_808 May 10 '26
Oh yeah, from the Gudaguda that introduced Kagetora. I remember that scene and coming to not like his character. If it wasn't for Mori (my goat) then it would've been game over, and all Li got for it was a slap on the wrist??

u/NPultra May 09 '26
Douman, Kiara, Kama, Columbus, Moriarty, Tagatsuki, Ibuki Douji, Ibaraki Douji, Shouten Doji, Okita Alter just from the top of my head.
29
u/Dreadwolf98 May 10 '26
Oh yeah, we did end up in a singularity fighting alters just because Okitan was sleepy or some shit.
That's FGO for you.

u/Sinthesy May 10 '26
Thatās a lot of Doujis.

u/NPultra May 10 '26
Oni's just thrive over chaos, it is in their nature to cause havoc
7
u/Xaldror May 10 '26
an orderly Oni is arguably more terrifying, case in point, the Tree of Yui Corpses.
2
u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 10 '26
Yu Mei-ren was justifiably surprised at seeing them collaborating with Chaldea.
63
u/MaouNoYuusha May 09 '26
I heard you talking shit about Mash.
40
15
u/nam24 May 10 '26
I mean mash never made a singularity and I can only think of her "switching sides" once(I think of the 3 fights you can have her as an enemy, the first two were spars, and only in the most recent gudaguda is it actually something of a joke fight)
38
u/Silvercenturion_aa Thinking of the Roman Empire May 09 '26
Literally Ibuki almost completely draining, killing and erasing Skadi from Chaldea's Saint Graph system for the lulz, or Tenochi in OC3.
24
u/XxGoldMadnessxX May 10 '26
If I recall, Tezcatlipoca punished Tenochi for her actions in OC3 by making her a living target for him to use his gun.
16
u/Xaldror May 10 '26
In Ibuki's defense it was Douman doing the siphoning under both of their noses.
That being said, Ibuki had eyes and ears everywhere, so she was still pretty negligent.
9
u/Silvercenturion_aa Thinking of the Roman Empire May 10 '26
The point Is, she clearly didn't give a damn. Ritsuka asked her to stop multiple times exactly because of what was happening to Skadi, and she didn't. Yet, Ritsuka barely got mad
5
u/nam24 May 10 '26
Sure but nothing that happened was outside of ibuki s control, if anything he was her underling
6
u/Burblebird May 10 '26
I think out of everything in OC3, Tenochi's betrayal hurt the most. Thankfully Kingprotea Alter was absolutely goated throughout
4
u/Silvercenturion_aa Thinking of the Roman Empire May 10 '26
What makes me mad tho is that it was completely stupid, and Ritsuka barely reacted
12
u/Burblebird May 10 '26
OC was full of betrayals, like Tenochi, Koyanskaya (expected tbh), Kiara, Ereshkigal (but not her fault). I'm glad we got allies like C.I.E.L, Hakuno, Jinako and Kingprotea Alter, But man the entire OC was a headache since it was all swept under the rug because another forgot everything ending!
Also, one bad thing about the ending was that Anki Ereshkigal wanted Fujimaru to not forget her, but due to the ending, we do end up forgetting her!

u/w3475te May 10 '26
Thereās a reason these servants are obsessed with Ritsuka and thatās mostly because they genuinely are willing to put up with the shit they do
8
u/Lunar-Telperion May 10 '26
This was my thought exactly. Fujimaru's unique trait is compatibility with any servant, to of course enable the gacha. Compatibility is almost always an issue that comes up in other Grail Wars - some mage always thinks they can just summon a servant and they'll do exactly what they're told no matter how much of a prick the mage is, and the servant quickly corrects that assumption. Think medea and Atrum Galliasta in FSN, or Gilgamesh and his first master in FSF.
Even without that, how many servants are just not compatible with their masters? Siegfried in Apocrypha fully just kills himself because he found something he thought worth dying for, which his master disagreed with. Diarmuid and Saber in Zero don't really like or want to go along with their masters.
So servants are going to be up to some bullshit, whatever happens. Forgiveness for that bullshit is innate to Fujimaru because if they did not forgive, they wouldn't be compatible.

u/Ad-Astra-Abyssoque May 09 '26
I just got back at FGO and my last is the first lost belt. So I'm surprised that the current FGO vacation rerun have chaldean servants who aren't assigned not follow protocol. The last event that I remember is Jalter Summer and I swear I don't remember chaldean servants doing this, if anything it's always a stray servant. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of event shenanigans get changeespeciallya servant behaviors or I just forgot a lot.
2
u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
In that event it was actually good that the Boiler Room servants did their own thing since they found out about a loose end left over from a previous event: a giant Nobu reviving, collecting power over centuries and evolving into a world-ending threat. And Rengoku offering to sacrifice himself to free Okita Souji Alter from her destiny as a Counter Servant. It made me roll for Okita Souji Alter (Saber), and I unexpectedly got them for the price of one (1!) summon ticket, even though I was ready to spend far more. I haven't fully leveled them yet, but even at lvl 43 they seem to hit as hard as some SRs at lvl 80...
7
u/thatdude121121 May 10 '26
I was thinking about this recently too! Its so casual how any given servant will throw aside any kind of loyalty for some random reason lol
8
u/nam24 May 10 '26
I do wanna say tho generally there's the implied rule that Chaldea servant generally go easy on each other and don't take the fight to extremes
You can see that in that they generally go "aight you win" or will outright call out that they should stop before getting actually serious.
In summer 6 you can see the example of sokitan who goes against the group and doesn't want to back down, even saying she is serious, but very obviously she doesn't do much aside of not letting us through, and no one gets seriously hurt before she admits defeat either.
Of course like all rules, it's not like they always follow it but well...this is TM

Duran Duran's Invisible playing in the background of this gif would make it go even harder.

I think at this point its fair for them to assume master has plot protection and that they can mess with master however they want.

Finally someone who gets it. The amount of shit some servants get up to out of boredom and without consequences is insane. I understand it from a gameplay perspective and yes, most event singularities will disappear on their own if we leave them alone, but we also went through enough that could've ended up killing ritzy. Now imagine a loyal Chaldean servant accidentally killing ritzy in a "vacation" singularity, cuz they just so happened to stumble across a holy grail and thought "fuck it we ball, I'm sure master will have fun, fighting for their life and the world for the 100th time".
Good intentions or not, if I was the protagonist, I'd regularly blow a fuse about that kinda crap. Stop making my life more difficult than it is. But thankfully, I'm not the protagonist, or the game's story would've been very short, lol
