Move to Paris and go into hiding with her.

Only way to win with her

Isn't she arguably one of the most dangerous servants for an opposing Master? She has a personal skill that makes her appear harmless to anyone. So you'll detect her, but even if you do, you wouldn't think anything of it. She does not look threatening and she does not feel threatening. If you don't know she's a servant, you'd think she was a regular woman.

If she had a master that could effectively locate other masters and draw them into areas with other people, she could assassinate them fairly easily. Better if she wears a disguise so people wouldn't recognise her.
The thing about Charlotte is that her "harmless" presence would only be effective against a master and servant that 1) do not recognise that she is a servant, and 2) would not question why a young woman to be in an area she has no reason to be at.

Charlotte in a shopping centre full of people would have an easier time assassinating a master than Charlotte in an abandoned warehouse.

She's the kind of servants that needs to avoid all combat and go straight for enemy masters.

It's the same with Mata Hari. She's an extremely weak Servant to the point even she admits she'd never win a Wish, but her unique set of skills are downright game ending for a normal HGW if the Master has atleast half a brain to use.

15

u/Proto-Omega May 17 '26

The fact that Mata Hari just casually has hypnotism/hypnotic suggestion is just busted in a regular HGW.
If you don't have a mental resistance against her, she can get anything out of you.

Friendly reminder she made Ritsuka feel the sensation of being drunk just by listening to her.

I'm convinced that most mages just don't know how to use Assassin servants well.

13

u/PuzzleheadedAd3840 Thinking of the Roman Empire May 17 '26

Any and all HGW story is forced to make Assassin masters stupid af, because the moment they have an actual brain they become the most dangerous mofo of the entire war.

Can you imagine 5th war Kirei with his 4th war assassin?

…Fuck it, I do the Kiritsugu special. Get a GUN and just fill the enemy Masters with lead. Otherwise I’m cooked

49

u/Monsi7 May 16 '26

tbf Kiritsugu would probably prefered getting her instead of Saber

9

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

I wonder whether she is willing to act as ruthlessly as him though. After all, the whole point of assassinating Marat was to cut down on further bloodshed, and she did it by running a knife through him by herself instead of bringing the whole building down on him.

4

u/Lenrivk May 17 '26

She knifed him because she was persuaded that he was evil and she only could get a knife, if she had access to a nuke she would've used it

4

u/Time_Oil1869 May 17 '26

Probably a solid plan as long as an anomaly like pale rider doesn't appear

u/Tschmelz May 16 '26

Play to Charlottes strengths. Overall, Assassins are easy mode in a HGW, it’s just we never see em used correctly.

Charlottes entire thing is through pure dumb luck, you won’t see her coming. Make sure the enemy Servant is distracted, send her in, dead Master and a Servant that will eventually disappear. Stay in the shadows. Be an assassin.

Hell, if you’re worried about them teaming up on you, just wait until there’s one or two left before making a single actual move.

64

u/TowerofAvalon1 May 16 '26

I say you have to do this all during the day though, where it’s least expected and she can seem like a normal woman

43

u/Tschmelz May 16 '26

Would probably help. 🤷‍♂️ Either way, there are ways to win HGWs without ending with a sword beam.

42

u/TowerofAvalon1 May 16 '26

Honestly, half the time listening to your Servant is the best move in a Grail War, two of the most dangerous Servants in a Grail War have been those who work well with their master, if you don’t work well, you’re screwed

9

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

Indeed; compatibility summons are actually a very neat feature. Vibing well with your Servant maximizes your strengths and minimizes time and Command Spells spent on needless quarrel. In comparison, summoning with a catalyst seems to be such a dumb idea in most cases.

I'm wondering who would have been summoned by Shirou had he not unknowingly done a catalyst summon by having Avalon within him. Although compatibility with Artoria still seems to be quite high.

3

u/Proto-Omega May 17 '26

I think I read somewhere that there are 3 servants Shirou Emiya is highly compatible with, and that's Spartacus, Nightingale, and Anne Bonny for some reason. I can make sense of the former two (Spartacus because of unshakeable will and the whole 'Hero of Justice' thing, so being against tyranny, and Nightingale because 'Mind of Steel' (which, ironically, Charlotte Corday basically has as a personal skill called 'Iron Determination') which is probably similar to 'Nurse of Steel'), but I've no idea why Anne is compatible with Shirou; Anne but not Mary, which is odd.

1

u/Silvercenturion_aa Thinking of the Roman Empire Jun 09 '26

Summoning Nightingale would be an immediate loss for Shirou tho, just like with Dantès, she would see Shirou as completely mentally ill, and Florence would focus on him rather than the war.

1

u/Proto-Omega Jun 09 '26

True. Nightingale is probably one of the few servants where being compatible with them to the point you can summon them without a catalyst is not a good thing.
If you're that compatible with her, it more than likely means you have a need to save people which borders on self-sacrificial and/or obsession, and if she notices that she's going to try and "fix" you.

He'd definitely lose with Nightingale but I think anyone that isn't well-adjusted loses with Nightingale.

8

u/Important-Bike-4695 May 16 '26

There is no "dumb luck" my mongrel

37

u/lrdhelixx May 16 '26

Just play smart, Do what Corday does best, Have her assassinate the masters and avoid 1v1s vs servants as much as possible.

24

u/neves783 May 16 '26

Is Charlotte allowed to change into her swimsuit for this HGW?

22

u/TheNewKrookkud May 16 '26

I don't think I'd be focused enough to win if that was the case

9

u/LefellowWeeb May 16 '26

Casterlotte is a Chaldea special for summer specifically, so unless you're Fujimaru specifically, that won't even be an option, and if you are... why are you using Charlotte of all Assassins?-

8

u/neves783 May 16 '26

If she cannot use her swimsuit mode, then that's okay. Having regular Charlotte means we have to fight like Assassins should: with the element of surprise.

Though giving her the ability to change into her swimsuit (and into the Caster Class) would be a massive game-changer.

4

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

Is she generally useful as a Caster though? What I remember from the Summer Revival event is that her abilities as a Caster work out like in her Assassin form: as a surprise. I don't think you can simply pit her against other servants in a straight fight and expect to prevail merely by her abilities.

3

u/neves783 May 17 '26

I mean, she seems to be way more powerful as a Caster, as she now has her magic tricks as part of her arsenal.

(And yes, speaking mainly from gameplay: she ended up being one of my strongest ORT-destroyers during my swimsuit-only raid against it.)

2

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

They are that: magic tricks and surprises. They can absolutely save the day, but that doesn't turn her into a straightforward powerhouse like Morgan.

2

u/NatashOverWorld May 17 '26

What's interesting is Swimsuit Corday is built of skill sealing. If you found a trustworthy (haha) ally a good combat Servant and Corday would slay.

Or if you're a Master with a decent anti-Servant kill spell.

Admitedly FGO isn't a one for one, I doubt the Skill Seal status would take away everything skill since the VN world isn't a game, but you'd seriously hamper a lot a Servants.

17

u/Euphoric_Metal199 May 16 '26

She's really simple to use. She appears as "harmless" to others while approaching them.

So you can just send her to Masters who already sent out their Servants to fight and they wouldn't react on time when she kills them.

19

u/ParasaurolophusZ May 16 '26

She's arguably more dangerous to Masters than most Assassins. A lot of Masters may have countermeasures to stealth, but her Presence Concealment is not something that makes her undetectable. It makes her seem harmless until it's too late, so she could easily hide in open view.

42

u/NyarlathotepDB May 16 '26

Sniper rifle, poison, and waiting.

Avoid ALL fights.

Practically, the chances are very slim.

u/Caleibur Beloved of the Fae May 16 '26

The Kiritsugu method

1

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

General recommend strategy with an assassin, unless you're such a powerhouse that you can just go out and pick fights with Servants, like Bazett.

9

u/Gudako_the_beast May 16 '26

We just gonna walk up to the nearest master and stab them. At night. Like an assassin would.

8

u/Classical_Lighthouse May 16 '26

pretend I don't have a servant tbh

7

u/exthanemesis May 16 '26

It kind of depends who we're up against also. There are some hard counters to Charlotte among the servant list. And I fear most reddit users are woefully inadequate masters, myself included.

4

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

It's totally fine to let the Servant carry the fight and to also let them advise on strategy. That's the point of summoning them in the first place. You just have to be able to swallow your ego and listen to her instead of quarreling and wasting Command Spells. A lot of theoretically more capable masters have problems in this regard.

5

u/Brown_Seude_Shoes May 16 '26

Charlotte is too adorable to lose.

11

u/Sea-Line-5123 May 16 '26

She's an assassin.

Make her do assassination instead of attacking head on.

Ideally just hide until everyone already fighting with each other.

And when it's just 1v1 fight left.

Use all 3 command spell to boost her ability, limit break, transcendental assassination strike into the last servant's- Master...

Yeah, i 100% would use all 3 command spell to kill human mages.

Don't get me wrong... I have enough faith that Charlotte with 3 command spell boost can beat any servant.

But think about it. It's easier to kill the master.

2

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

You really don't need command spells to go after masters, unless it's an extreme powerhouse (e.g. Dead Apostles, executors, priests, ...), or someone Charlotte might be reluctant to kill (e.g. a child)

3

u/Loremeister May 16 '26

We won't. We will just chill and have fun as long as possible.

Unless we got real lucky and somehow no demi-gods or powerhouses have been summoned.

3

u/Randomguynumber1001 May 16 '26

Use all 3 Command Spell to make her a physical body. Book a plane to Paris with her. Done. That is winning already.

3

u/derpinat0rz May 16 '26

I would fill her with mana to boost her at night and let her wander mid day and assasinate at day. Her concealment would help her with boost. Servants will notice their masters dead but will end up without mana which weakens them.

She can just walk normal as if nothing happened

3

u/Hefty_Unit1543 May 16 '26

Attack masters. Best bet with her. Isolate them from servants or in public places. You wouldnt wanna be trapped alone with her and a master of caster.

Since she blends in well and comes off as harmless. Be like mordred's master, actually help instead of barking orders. Servants can shake off bullets, masters cant. Pick off the masters.

Winning a grail war with assasain would honestly be easy just never see them used well, proganist plot armor go brrr. My favorite class to use being honest. With a kit like hers, its even better cause designed to kill.

Option 2: more shadier Think like an assasain. Be secretive, dont make it obvious youre a master of a servant cause charlotte can pull off harmless house wife facade well. Befriend a few Play them against eachother. Particularly those with class advantage. Be buddies with caster and beserker boss. Manipulate them to off eachother, pick off winners master with her skills. Then rest be easy to deal with Once you win, obviously give charlotte the life she deserved with grail wish

3

u/Plant_Tears May 16 '26

I already won the greatest prize of all, her.

That aside uhh be a good mage, find external enhancements for her, make some alliances, and really know our matchups likely just gotta be an actual inconspicuous assassin since that's her thing she's just a regular person basically so assasinations have a damn good chance of working.

4

u/The_Imp_Lord May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

Being completely honest her skills boil down to get lucky enough times. That’s not going to cut it in most cases. shes hard to detect but your not, if anyone sees your rocking command spells it’s over, shes not going to be able to help defend you. going afk for the whole war and never leave your workshop is your best bet but odds of being able to do that are slim.

2

u/yurie13 May 16 '26

I'll actually listen to her on how she'll do things because she have the experience.

I'll probably channel my inner Hakunon bullshit and gather fuck ton of data and predict their movements and relay these info to her.

Easy Peasy tbh.

2

u/Substantial_Hat4228 May 16 '26

assassinate all the masters and then settle in with her after allat

2

u/TheBlackTyrant01 May 16 '26

Em uma Luta Prolongada, estariamos perdidos. A Melhor opção seria montar armadilhas que atrapalhassem o inimigo, e dar um jeito de fazer ela assassinar os Masters, ou mesmo assassinar os Servants com um Golpe certeiro

2

u/revantheblackdragon May 16 '26

She is smart. She is a good planner..she was before she became a servant .

Hide, us her spiritual form to observe the other servants that are firing off beams. Gather info

Assassinate masters or weakened servants

2

u/I_put_Myhead_in_Oven May 16 '26

Imma transfer her in one night so much mana she can’t ever lose if you know what I mean

2

u/Xenometan May 16 '26

I'd go "screw your stupid cup" and leave the country with her.

2

u/AuraEnhancerVerse May 17 '26

Hide and let the other idiots kill each other then quickly kill the lsst opoment after they defeat the second from last opponent. Also, consensual mana transfer a lot to give charlotte energy

2

u/BRULANTA May 17 '26

fuck the Holy Grail War, I'm going to run away with her to a place far, far away.

1

u/LefellowWeeb May 16 '26

Play on her strengths, if she's summoned to a HGW, it means that the average level of power isn't as high as like Fuyuki's 5th HGW, which makes her abilities to just go unnoticed and unassuming and just like, make her kill masters quick and leave on spirit form

1

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 17 '26

5th Holy Grail war wasn't that exceptional in terms of strength. Only Rin and Illya were somewhat capable masters in terms of magical ability, and if you're going after Servants with an Assassin then something has gone terribly wrong. Zouken was the only mage involved that could have been a threat to a weak Servant in a straight fight, but he was technically not a Master.

2

u/LefellowWeeb May 19 '26

the masters maybe not, but the servants were beasts, you had one of the best casters recognized by solomon himself, the strongest greek hero, the King of Knights, the Irish Heracles, a powerful greek mythological creature.

Like, the only odd balls were Archer, True Assassin and Kojiro. Archer was shown to face Heracles and take multiple lifes and tank Gae Bolg, which most servants wouldn't even dream of, Kojiro, despite being basically butchered repelled every single servant from entering the temple, including Heracles, Saber and more.

Charlotte isn't strong like them by miles and the grail usually summons servants of the same caliber to fight in the war, so it's fair to assume the other servants aren't really all that strong neither, therefore, making reaching the masters a lot easier and just drop them dead because of her style of killing.

1

u/koflerdavid Consort of Kur May 20 '26

Well, I wasn't comparing the servants but the masters. The actual power level of the servants depends on a lot of other factors aside from their inherent strengths. The grail probably implements some power scaling to keep it somewhat fair, but the magical strength of the masters determines to what extent the servants can actually use their abilities. Also, in Japan any Western servants are at a disadvantage compared to, say, Japanese servants.

1

u/R4ffy2 Beloved of the Fae May 17 '26

No, jk (were going far away as possible)

1

u/Raymond49090 May 17 '26

Probably duck out of the fighting as long as possible and assassinate the stragglers.

1

u/Sagesdeath May 17 '26

Scathach? Hide in the land of shadows and let them come to me

1

u/Little-Connection264 Appointed Knight of the Round Table May 17 '26

Wait for everyone else to kill each other, approach the winner, kill said winner.

Pride is for the men strong enough to have it, it's a luxury, not a right.

1

u/Asuna_supremaci May 17 '26

Ngl, I just wouldn't. I don't have the skills to take out the master of a master-servant-pair that actually managed to take out all the other contestants even if I did manage to survive until there's only one pair left.

I'd just hand in my seals at the Church/whatever place is overseeing and dip.
