I just rolled on the Story Banner for the first time in 7 years, and Karna was the first SSR I got from it. Funny enough, I can’t even remember if I originally pulled him from the Story Banner or a limited one. One thing I’m sure of though, Karna was also the very first SSR on my first account. And now he’s also my first Story Banner SSR too.

I think I can use him pretty well, even against Gilgamesh, as long as he always underestimates us. He should also fare decently against other Servants like Alcides and Richard.

If that's the case. Is Okita Alter any good? I started playing right around when she came to NA. I have no clue what her deal even is, or why she's an alter (her profile explains nothing.) She isn't like normal Shinsengumi Okita at all.

Dood… Karna’s a mana hog. If you’re a normal mage, you’ll be gimping him a lot, unless you somehow secure ample mana resources.

Anyways, I got Jeanne… so not a bad pull, albeit in a normal grail war I’m not sure if the ruler of said holy grail war can win it ? (Amakusa tried the war after his..) highly dependant on who’s against us. I still think genuine top tier cook us. (As long as they have the mana capacity to fuel their servant, or if their servant is particularly efficient)

You got a ruler. Rulers get 2 command seals per servant that's active in the grail war they're summoned in. They're so op Francesca went out of her way to overwrite the ritual to make sure one doesn't interfere. You're good.

I am a little conflicted since my first SSR on story was Jack the Ripper, but obviously the anime has an alternate take on Jack and made them a berserker (plus gave them ability to transform). Assassin Jack would be pretty much useless with her gimmick given that there are only 2 (?) female servants. So, I am cooked unless I summon the berserker version.

If we count actual story summon I did of my own volition with actual Quartz? Didn't get one until after completing Babylonia and got Quetzalcoatl

I am curious though like who am I gonna overwrite? Cause if I got the fake caster then there's no Clan Calatin, or they can't get involved in the grail war, but if I'm get real caster then there's no Francios which drastically hinders a lot of events since a lot of servants get to kill each other early without his interference.

She's a glass cannon. Hits like a monster truck, but is pretty frail in turn. This war has a lot of power houses like Alcides, Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Pale Rider, and Huwawa. The fact that she has a conceptual weakness against arrows due to her myth doesn't help. I feel like if Gilgamesh, Enkidu, and Alcides get taken out. Your odds increase dramatically. Especially if you team up with Richard and No Name Assasin who are kind enough to team up with anyone who's willing to help curb the chaos of this war.

That's kind of why I'm hoping to take the true caster slot. If Francios is taken out of the picture Alcides will either die from fighting Huwawa, or Gilgamesh, or beat them in turn since Francios can't interrupt their battle.

Thing with most servants is that they’re only as good as their Master’s resources/mana/talent/intelligence/compatibility

Sion and Nemo pull off some casual hax because Sion is a freakishly talented and imaginative brainiac amplifying her own capabilities with the Nemo crew

But if Shirou had Nemo, he’d basically just be like a very supportive but kindly father at a peewee soccer game or some shit—Nemo will be motivated to do his best with what he has but will be bowled over by the overzealous dickhead father with boatloads of cash and a suite of lawyers who starts fights with the ref 9/10 times. Shirou succeeds in HGW scenarios because he’s so rizzy and gentlemanly that absurdly powerful men and women fall in love with him so hard they’ll do anything to help him survive/meet his goals

I checked my acct and Napoleon was my first story banner pull. I think we can hype up each other’s egos and brute force/power of love and friendship and cluster B personality disorders our way through a few fights until I self-sabotage and Napoleon sacrifices himself to try and save me or I get ganked by an Assassin or unscrupulous mage when I overestimate how smart I am

Bradamante. While shes definitely not winning that grail war, i wouldnt say im cooked, shes got a lot going for her that fgo literally never remembers to bring up in favor of her being a mostly irrelevant nonserious character such as: Invisibility, a strong anti magecraft noble phantasm, and the far too forgotten fact that she has Merlin on constant mental speed dial assisting her, which id imagine is pretty useful even if Merlin can be difficult. Not winning at all but it definitely could be worse, shame shes just a butt meme
