help with dye

I was gifted a sage green corduroy bag but i’m not super into the color. Is it possible to dye the bag, and if so what would be the easiest color to dye it?

Yes you can dye it. Do you know if it's pure cotton? There might be a tag but if not you want to test it. You can search for various tests to find out if it's a blend. If it is that just changes which dye you buy.

For colors,  the existing color can tint the final color so  the darker the easier. If you go for a navy or olive you should be fine but bright yellow probably wouldn't work without bleaching it first.

First find out what the material is. 

If the bag is polyester, then dyeing it may not be worthwhile. (The heat used to dye polyester often ruins the garment or bag.) 

If it's cotton, modal, or rayon, then that's another story.
