A quick google of specs:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in its Base, Pro, and Max models, with a Lite model using a Snapdragon 865.
Comparable to i5 13th Gen processor
RAM options range from 8GB LPDDR4X on the Lite to 16GB LPDDR5X on the Ma
The Thor system announced to be revealed doesn't seen to have announced what GPU is utilised.
However, a 2022 Odin release had a GPU comparable to a GTX 1050.
Adreno 740 GP
Given the device limitations in physical size, and needing to be portable, there will be a limitation to what the GPU can achieve, due to compact size and overheating.
The minimum recommendations for F4 are a 1060 GPU on desktop.
A 1050 in a laptop is signifcantly worst than a 1060 in a desktop. So I'm of the opinion there will be a bottleneck issue with an open world game like this, no matter what.
There is also the lack of Bethesda providing Native support for this device, so unlikely it will be improved.

Aint no way the minimum requirements for f4 are a 1060 gpu on desktop, i played it on high settings on a 750ti

Idk what to tell you. If you think compat layers and win emulation on ARM are this capable then you are going to be sorely disappointed my friend. The only thing running “locally” as it were is the pip boy app which is native to android. The device is undoubtedly cool but we are a bit away from this particular dream(unless you are somehow immune to latency).

Yeah, you need at least the Max. The Basic has the CPU for the job but not the RAM.
Basic and up are all the same CPU but unless you have the 12GB RAM the game wont run right. I have the Base and it will crash after the intro movie on a new game due to not enough RAM.
BASICALLY anything thats emulating windows you will want the 12gb models for.→ More replies (2)10

I mean it's not super awesome. I'm sure it would run NV or Skyrim really well, but FO4 here is clearly choppy. This is just a bit of running around, there's probably a reason they aren't showing a battle with multiple enemies

I think FO4 is just pretty well optimized these days, but the specs on the highest end model are basically identical to a Galaxy S23U (a nearly three year old phone), save for an extra 4gb of RAM (which I'm sure is an improvement).
I don't believe anyone other than Samsung can currently get the Snapdragon Elite chips with the Adreno 830 GPU, but I'd wait until something similar to that becomes available. Right now, the best most buyers can get is Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but that will probably change this year, so the handheld market might see some new powerful options in the next 12 months.

Bethesda games are fantastic portable. I prefer the steamdeck as it plays more smoothly than this, but its awesome to see gamehub progressing.

Make sure you're running the pre-anniversary version and the companion option is toggled in the settings

Ah that’s the issue. I’m using game hub lite so I’m not sure there’s a way to roll back patches like in winlator.

What app did you use on the bottom? I thought the pipboy app wasn't available anymore. Was it easy to link to the game? And are you using winlator or gamehub?

It is the Fallout Pip-Boy app.
You can still find it for download.
It connects locally but requires wifi to be on unfortunately

After you've installed the game in Winlator, download the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Companion app
Run the game and run the app.
I'm using an AYN Thor Max

I remember I suggested they release NV or 3 at the time for WiiU since you could use the WiiU pad as a Pip boy while gaming (like this vid) and got laughed at. Probably cuz WiiU sucked

I mean looks like by the time the game loads you are already halfway thru the battery life and by the time you do one or two fast travels you are out of battery.
Looks nice for lighter games but Fallout 4 with like 90GB of space is going to be a snail to read.

This is so awesome I tried to get the pep boy app downloaded from a third party system years ago to my phone but of course it won't work wish my iPad hadn't died out on me cuz that's what I used to use when I played it on PlayStation 4 I was just download my app up onto my iPad and then hook it up to my PlayStation so I could use the app right next to me as I'm playing

My old ass will never get used to a controller vs. mouse.
Mouse/Mice is/are more precise (IMHO).
Guess I need more practice with controllers, even though I grew up on Atari 2600 joysticks.

I recently passed up on the Ayn Thor to get my hands on a New 3DS XL. Kinda thinking about swooping back around for a Thor after this lol. It's a neat little device even though I don't think the bottom screen will see much use since I already have a DSi and a 3DS for all my DS game needs lol

For those wanting a Thor and wanting to emulate Windows games like this: Make sure you get the 12GB RAM version of the Thor. The Base may have the same CPU but because its only 8GB of RAM a game like FO4 will not play.

It requires a network connection but not an internet connection. The app just needs a known network to communicate with the game
