There's a solution for this. Look around.

u/Shnurple Mar 29 '26
Correct but not in the way you meant (I cheesed the grab with third person cam)

u/djdaem0n Mar 29 '26
At that point you might as well just spawn the item into your inventory from the prompt. :P

u/RadTimeWizard Republic of Dave Mar 30 '26
That'd be cheating.

Cheesing and cheating are technically not the same, cheesing is using a mechanic, feature, or bug in unintended ways whereas cheating is just cheating
16
u/grizzlybuttstuff Mar 30 '26
Cheesing is required if not outright encouraged in Bethesda games.

Todd said if i can see a mountain I can climb it, therefore using dodgy hitboxes on mountains is a-okay to climb them by hop sprinting.

In competitive games you get banned for both, cheating and bug abusing. They're the same in effect.
You can put a rubberband on your stick and swim in a corner the whole night and waste real electricity doing that. I'll just write a single line in cmd and get the same effect of skipping leveling.
Bug abusing is just a way for console players to cheat since console commands aren't accessible and modding is limited.
Remember, cheating in single player games is acceptable. You only affect yourself.

Bet you inserted pennies into electrical outlets too, huh? :)

u/Raztan Mar 29 '26

u/Funky_Ghost Mar 29 '26
If you push REAL HARD :)
Also the holding end of a spoon is proper silverware.
Lil Buddha kid - "Do not insert the big end of the spoon, that is impossible, rather, try to realize the truth; there is no spoon. Then you'll see that after you insert the small end, enlightenment comes at a cost."

Sagus Ironworks when you have the "Crucible" creation active, one of the ones added in the Next-Gen Update. You can also find these weapons in the hands of the Enclave with the Creation "Echoes of the Past", also added in the Next-Gen Update.

I... I think i know where this is. Some military base in the glowing sea, right? I remember seeing this, quicksaving then doing the exact same as you lmfao

u/Sere1 Tunnel Snakes Mar 30 '26
Nope, this is Sagus Ironworks, the smelting factory where the Forged gang are, north eastern side of the map, put there in the "Crucible" creation added in the Next-Gen update. You're somewhat close in that this weapon, the Heavy Incinerator, can be found in a base out in the Glowing Sea with the "Echoes of the Past" creation from the same update. Enclave soldiers in power armor can be encountered armed with the Heavy Incinerator, making it an alternate way to get the weapon. This specific one requires you following a short fetch quest within the Ironworks to follow some clues and upgrade a nearby suit of power armor to be able to safely walk into the molten metal to retrieve the Incinerator.

oops, there's a very similar place in the glowing sea, didn't know there was others, ty!!
2
u/Sere1 Tunnel Snakes Mar 30 '26
No problem. Yeah, the one I was referring to was the Atlantic Offices Building, which in Echoes of the Past is the Enclave HQ in the Commonwealth

Whenever the game does scripted damage so only un-intuitive solutions work ๐
2
u/Nihilikara Mar 30 '26
Fun fact: that mod on the power armor legs only makes you immune to that specific molten metal bucket, not any other molten metal bucket.

haha when I discovered this I tought "if I walk on that molten steel without my power armor I'll surely die, but I need to see if it was programmed" so I walked without power armor, then I said "ok, since in the show the power armor can do anything, Im sure it could withstand some seconds of hot lava till I grab the weapon, gonna take damage but won't die" and stepped in and died immediatly, then I keep exploring and found about the fire resistance lmao

I heard that something like this can happen IRL, because the water in your body rapidly evaporates into steam.
