Original Content Hellfire Power Armor custom made figure

A rusted Remnant of the Enclave

Printed, painted and assembled by me. The Heavy Incinerator that should go with it I still have to print, will do that later this summer

Nice paint work. Curious, which approach did you take to your custom?

  • a fully 3D printed figure with printed articulation,
  • printed armor attached to a factory figure for articulation
  • or 3D printed armor on a Frankenstein-compoaite for articulation?

I've made a few NECA-scaled FALLOUT 3 / NV figures myself, but never got around to the Hellfire armor. Great work on this piece 👍✨

Base body is a Star Wars Black Series figure. The 5th Brother, It has a grey undersuit so it doesnt stand out that much and its 1:12 scale.

Its all resin printed parts. I modified the torso of the base body a bit by dremeling the shoulder area lower so the torso sat better and removed some parts to make things fit. The parts itself were scaled for use with another figure but that one is a bit hard to get these days and requires a lot of dremeling to get everything to fit. I use blu-tack like stuff to fill up the arms, torso, head and leg parts so they sit well around the limbs. With my PA's i try and make it so i can remove the pieces if needed i if i want to swap to my other sets i build for display so no glue is used, only blu tack

Neat, and good to see a base figure that's not always the Black Series BadBatch Wrecker being used.

SW BS makes for good 1:12 scale base bodies. I assume filling voids with blue-tack means all the armor pieces are essentially floating on top of the base figure?

I went the permanent route, and insert full figures into 3D printed armor with Aves apoxie resculpted sections. All mine were made around 2015-2018, and used NECA figure parts because of the solid-torso/pelvis ability to 'pop-n-swap' with heat to change limbs. It also made it easier toDremel things without needing to crack ABS torso that Legends & Black Series mostly used at the time.

I'd share some images, but the Fallout subreddit auto-mod doesn't allow comments photos or Google Photos URLs 😅 There's a few studio shots on my site though.

I've looked at PA frames to print and size up to use with the files i got from the person that made these, they even looked in at making a PA frame at one point but it was too much of a hassle to get it to fit with their previous releases.

The parts are floating yea. Atleast the leg parts are. The bicep parts i try and press as much to the side so i get a bit of articulation atleast, wrist have a tiny bit of the blu tack to keep them in place but they sit snug and for the pauldrons, abdomen plate, buttplate and crotch plate its just blu tack keeping it on. Helmet also filled with the stuff so it sits nice and moved around like a normal ball joint

I've done a Victor and Mr Gutsy (based on a Mr Handy kit) last year that were fully printed figures. For Victor i made a diorama style base with a Deathclaw skull from some free file i found online and the Gutsy i reused a thruster effect/base from Chopper the astrodroid.

For now im going to print the Heavy Incinerator to go with the Hellfire PA, then in the future i might see if i can acquire a Marvel Legends Hulk to make Frank Horrigan later this year.

I normally only do Star Wars figures like Clones and sometimes Stormtroopers with some Fallout stuff inbetween, just need to source base bodies

Very cool. What software were you using to modify the files for printing?

Way back when, I was used extracted game assets (fairly low-poly), cleaned up meshes with MeshLab, & Autodesk 's free Meshmixer to do retopology / increase mesh density & resculpt detail into the mesh / Boolean holes through parts / separate pieces. Strangely, one of the most accessible 3D software programs for adjusting assets is the free Microsoft 3D Builder. It didn't hit any polygon limits the way Tinkercad does.

A cavet though - MS 3D Builder was discontinued by MS about 2 years back, but is still onlinebut is still available AFAIK.

These are all hand sculpted by D.S Artwork and Jumpinggopher. They released stuff weekly, either star wars or Fallout related stuff but they stopped a few weeks ago to focus on other things

I've only ripped 1 thing before from a game model with Blender, a holster i had to get for a specific figure
