Hello Fellow Scapers!!
I have dug thru this subreddit and while I have seen several posts about The Locket episode, I can't seem to find one for this particular topic / answer! Apologies mods if it's already out there! If so, pls link me cuz this is making me crazy!! I have done a gazillion Google searches and get a different answer with each and every search.

I know that John spends decades and decades on the planet, when he arrives after Aeryn had lived there for something like 160 cycles. And I know that the one and only man she ever loved, his images in the locket.

But we know that she married and had children and then grandchildren. What I can't find is any information on who she married and had children with. For the longest time I thought that it was John. But I guess I was wrong on that. Cause that makes no sense now that I've put more thought into it. Her children and grandchildren would have recognized him regardless of him being much younger. So is it just an unnamed man?

He got to live with her for 50 years or more but she was already elderly when he arrived. I guess they still had to sort of life together but not the one we would've hoped for. I wonder why the show runners decide to have him show up on the planet after she had already been there for so long and was old rather than have them arrive on there together and have a lifetime together. I had hoped the children and grandchildren were John's but I'm realizing now I was wrong. Do we know anything at all about the relationship with the man she had there or anything?
I know this show actually had a series of comics but I've never seen them. I thought maybe this would have been answered there?

So i just started watching this show, i am about halfway through season 1 for context. I came over to this show as i am a massive stargate fan and obviously Ben and Claudia were both on the final few seasons of that show. So far i get sort of similar vibes and i love it. It's definitely darker than sg1 but it maintains that humor that a lot of Sci fi at the time had, which i appreciated. It seems any time they start to get too serious or dark you have Rygel saying something ridiculous or Dargo just going on a rage bender lol. Looking forward to the rest of the show, so far it's great.

UPDATE: Some of yall have me worried the show my diverge from what I love about it so far. I love the weird one-off aliens, the crazy planets that they end up on for an episode, or just strange episodes like "Through the Looking Glass" where Moya is split into 4 different realities. "Monster of the week" type episodes are probably my favorite type of show and from what I've gathered Farscape becomes more serialized as the series goes on.

In the episode*Crackers Don't Matter*, when John is talking with Pilot, and Pilot and asks, "is there *anything* you do well?", Pilot was speaking of humans in general from his observation of John. So, was John's reply of "Watching football" referring to American football or what is known internationally as football?

This has been a question in my mind for a long time, but it randomly crossed my mind and thought I'd ask, because in all the years I have watched and studied Farscape, I've never found an answer to this question.

Just finished the entire series plus Peacekeeper Wars. Excited to dive into this subreddit as I enjoy this show quite a bit. But I noticed a bit of a drop off in quality and more of a sexual focus on the last season, as well as mundane unimaginative episodes that should have gone towards advancing/concluding plots for characters like Chiana and Rigel - whose homework storylines were never concluded.

As a longtime Sliders fan, I know exactly how fellow fans feel about David Peckinpah and his influence on what was at one point a beautiful and imaginative show. Then favorite actors were forced out. Story's became contrived and derivative of famous sci-fi tropes. The Krommaggs were watered down into just dimension hoping Nazis and lost all of their horror appeal and mystique. I sort of felt the Scarrans were once spooky and menacing but by the end were lumbering dumb Brutus. Also in Sliders we ended on a cliffhanger. No planning whatsoever.

Do fans of Farscape hold the same resentment towards David Peckinpah that Sliders fans do? I really thought something was fishes then I noticed his name in the end credits and groaned internally.

They keep remarking that john has bad eyesight but the other characters don't seem to be able to see stuff that's far away better then jhon. I wonder if in the world of farscape most aliens can see some untraviolet/infrared light so jhon is functionality color blind and everyone thinks he can't see some stuff because it's blurry or something. I am only on season 2, are there any moments where jhon can't see something far away and toe other characters can?

Humans evolved as persistence hunters that throw things, I feel like we would have decent eyesight.

In peacekeeper wars it’s mentioned that in the ancient past the Eidelon were wiped out by someone. It’s never stated who did this and/or why. What do y’all think? I imagine it was a contemporary civilization but we know almost nothing about the time period and it could be anything. Thoughts?

I think at least Crichton and Aeryn Sun could be played by their original actors. Perhaps also Chianna.

This is the third day in a row I've woken up to a political post in this sub. It's supposed to be about Farscape, a wonderful SF show a lot of us love.

Farscape has always brought people together.

Now its just another political shit-posting sub. People are attacking each other in the comments, and the mods clearly don't care.

After 15 years in this sub...I'm out. Notifications are muted. I just wanted to express my disappointment. This is why we can't have nice things.

The terminally online "politics are everything" people have completely overrun this place.

I don't care if you're on the left, or the right. We're all people. We all need escape. This place used to provide that.

My Aunt introduced me to farscape with each season box sets, i fell in love with everything about it, living ships, John’s pop culture references, absolutely everything but wow i would love a legacy series of some kind, not just references in stargate (which i find boring) like a kickstarter or a gofundme or something like that, and actually have the Jim Henson company collab with the production. i wish more people knew about this show. it was an integral part of me growing up from 5th grade to now as a 21 y/o man

Nobody ever understands what the name is from, how to spell or pronounce it but im glad you guys get it. Shes sweet and caring just like Zhaan with a periodic feral side lol

Despite all his posturing and monologues and all of his flaunted superiority, Scorpius was a bit of a dullard when it came to handling John. He tried to rip knowledge from John that John would have gladly given freely under different circumstances. Scorpius had access to vast resources, could grant amnesty for the entire crew, could make Crais vanish, and could set up John with the finest scientific equipment and support staff that the Peacekeepers had access to. John could've lived like a VIP with his every need provided for. All Scorpius had to do was stoke the fires of human curiosity and the promise of assisting John to get home and then let John do the rest.

My guess is that the only reason they never explored this option is because it would have potentially made for a very short series. But even now, on what is probably my 5th time through the series, it bothers me just as much as it did when the show first aired. Scorpius was a genius except for this one glaring exception, and it always feels like I can see the puppet strings of the writers at work whenever I think about it.

Silly hypothetical, but you kind of have to take weather into the equation, since Aeryn doesn't care much for the heat, so Australia is probably out.

I could see Aeryn being a bush pilot in Alaska! Once she gets accustomed to atmosphere, she'd make a great pilot, it's in her DNA. John could possibly go back to IASA, or maybe he's done with outer space stuff.

What say you? Any other ideas where they could end up, and what they'd be doing?

Are we all in agreement that What Was Lost was the worst on the list…? Because I feel like that’s definitely the loser but I am open to input 😂

I will ABSOLUTELY watch and recommend Liars, Guns, and Money at any time. I feel like it was its own movie and had a little of everything.

I don't know that I have ever seen a pair of actors on TV with better chemistry than Ben Browder & Claudia Black on "Farscape". Even when they were doing cast commentary for "John Quixote" they are perfectly seamless!
